@ 540 and 541...
I rang to cancel when they put my 2meg up to £18 and wouldn't discount me back to £10 again no matter what I said.
I cancelled and they never came back to me to try and change my mind so I did leave....
O2 router should arrive today and i'm happy that the Virgin Media idiots won't be getting any more of my money.
Oh and my Virgin was supposedly cut off yesterday.... my Virgin TV only gets 1,2,3,4 and 5 now but my internet is still working fine....0 -
Paying £36.21 for XL BB only - noticed that new customers get XL BB for £35 pm incl once the intro period runs out - I'm out of contract but sadly my maximum DSL speed would be 2mbps so thats really not an option - anyone else got a reduction to £35 ?
Called Retentions - got offered XL BB @ £30pm with a new 12 month contract - I'm in a cable area.0 -
I find that when you call to cancel some agents do not bother with any offers and proceed straight to cancel whereas other agents actually look at your account and offer something. Might be worth calling back if you don't get anywhere with an agent.0

Hey folks.
I'm due to move into my new rented flat on friday and looking to get a package which will give me phone, broadband and tv. The previous tenant was hooked up to Virgin and was paying £21pm for the basic package. Does this seem reasonable? She is leaving her box so do you think I'd get a good deal if I explained the situation? Surely it's just a matter of choosing a decent package and switching me back on? If anyone has any other hints or tips I'd appreciate it. First time sorting this stuff out and looking for guidance.
cheers
Most people use listing no 3,4,5 or Quidco.

It seems clear to me that VM are putting their monthly rental costs up then when anyone calls to complain, they said 'oh well you're now on 10mb broadband so there'. But this bb upgrade is STANDARD and doesn't arise by virtue of paying more.
Any solicitors out there? Am I right in thinking that according to Williams v Roffey Bros any variation to pay more must be met with a factual or practical benefit, arising from that variation, therefore VM are trying to be clever by saying 'you are on 10mb now, you weren't before' but looking to the substance of that offer (in that it is standard for all customers previously on 2mb) consideration cannot be found to support the alteration promise as it does not arise naturally from the alteration.
Or am I totally wrong? x0 -

ive been a ntl/virgin customer for over 10 years+ some of my friends are getting 10mb bb and phone line for £20 odd quid, im paying £18 for 2mb BB & £11 for phone line, ive rang up to try and change it about 3 times over the last few months as ive seen this package of BB and phone from £5 month on there site, now when ive rang up they have said its for now customers only and i cant have it. i rang again the other day and was told that there upgrading all 2mb up to 10mb bb but id still be paying the same price for that, now how can i be paying more for the same when my friends are getting it for almost £10 less?0

You should be able to go on this package and will cost £25 per month for 10MB broadband and M phone.
