the flexibility to move around as and when I like

That's why I keep my BT line, each time I've threatened to leave they say "it'll cost you £120 to get a line", I then say " check your records, I don't have your phone".

I suspect that I could be another leaving in the next few months, just waiting to see exactly how things pan out with the changes, and if they honour my 6mth contract/12mth deal.
    Move along, nothing to see.

I currently pay £69.00 for Large BB, XL TV, evening and weekends phone, Sky Sports 1+2, a V+ box and one addtional standard box.

Iv been out of my contract for a while been with them for yonks (was with NTL for many moons before the change over)

Does it sound like im getting a fairly decent deal already or should i try and see if i can get better?

  • So I had my ebill through at the same time as the "Price Increase" Letter.

Not happy with this I was ready to leave VM for the greener pastures of a traditional phone line and broadband provider.

Alas, once requesting disconnection I was offer my existing 2MB BB for £14 a month for a period of 12 months.

Figured it was more to pay, but I was happy to do so to avoid the hassle to move elsewhere and and paying for a phone line that I don't need.

    Done

Do you have any other services with them mate?

I was in the same position as you so rang them up and even when I threatened to cancel they said they couldn't do better than £18. So I ended up cancelling.....

Nope - I only have broadband. They tried to sell the 10MB Boardband, at £17 but I made it very clear I didn't need anything more the 2MB.

If it helps anyone else, I noted
    1. that there was previously a BT line to the house, so there was little chance of me having to pay the connection fee.
    2. that for 14.99 I could get BB, Phone line inc evening and weekend calls with talk talk

I have to phone them next week, only have bb.

Paying £10 right now, are you saying the best case is that I will have to pay £14 for 2Mb?

    I'm a heavy user but I don't need more than 2Mb!!!

Paying £36.21 for XL BB only - noticed that new customers get XL BB for £35 pm incl once the intro period runs out - I'm out of contract but sadly my maximum DSL speed would be 2mbps so thats really not an option - anyone else got a reduction to £35 ?

After threatening to leave for BT I got offered the following for £28.90 with e-billing:

XL Phone (inc 4 extra phone features)
    L Broadband

    Is this a good deal?

I have a BT line and Virgin Media DSL Broadband 5 meg. I pay £17.99 Recently they have been reducing my speed if I do any downloading.

Who would be best to threaten to move to for real unlimited downloads ?

    Thanks
