Ok I'm dreading my renewal / cancellation then!
Im currently on an impossible to beat deal of
XL TV
XL PHONE
200MB BB
For £37.50 a month (seems some on here are paying £60+!).
Guess I wont get anywhere near that from retentions this time then by sounds of it!
Sky it is then...
You should be. I was on that exact deal too. Didn't get offered anything close. Since the new management came in they've stopped deals like that completely.0 -

Just had the upgrade and superhub go through. The price boost will not affect me since they added £40 credit on my account.
Essentially im paying £25 a month (inc line rental) for weekend calls & 150mb internet which i think is decent. For TV i got the £10 sky deal which is a bargain.0 -
Yes that included line rental. Guess Im going to lose a lot of TV channels then... hey ho thats what nowtv is for. Will see how much just for their broadband and freeview then.Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0

Hi all thought I would share my experience .
We currently have
XL TV 2 X TiVo boxes ( 1tb &500g)
XL BB
And evening and weekend phone .
So was paying about £73 plus will increase in Feb
Last few times of negotiations I've been getting less and getting more difficult to get a discount.
I played my 30 days notice card knowing they would try to offer something.
But it was very very poor so I proceeded with disconnection and I will say that I had every intention to leave .
I was told that I would not get anymore calls and would lose my email address ( sooooooo ).
Ok so I then did some homework and worked out an acceptable package with sky for £46 (getsky50)
I made another call to VM and explained my deal but what would they charge for BB only? Anyway it was a silly price and so I said no I'll go with sky.
Today VM called and without any haggling offered my current deal for £50 not price increase for 12mths ! I've had some good deals in the past but this blew them away!!!! And a new SH. And yes I have email confimation.
Obviously I said YES .
So sky do have a current offer called Getsky50 type this in the small box that asks about voucher codes and you get 50% off.
I would mention this to retentions even build a package and have the details . But as said before 30days notice use it and don't panic! If you don't want to leave then cancel your notice before 30days end as for me I really was going to leave the prices and regular price increases are crazy but for £50 I can't so no.
Good Luck Guys!0 -
And yes I have email confimation.
Don't bank on an email confirmation it means nothing,I got an email confirmation off a senior retentions manager a few years back Guaranteeing my deal for as long as i stayed with Virgin it lasted 12 months then price went up and was told no way she should have sent it.I did argue but didn't get anywhere. So now i record every phone call with Virgin staff because i don't trust them.0 -
It was also confirmed later when I rang . If it's bull then I'll goto sky yes I would miss BB but such is life !0

Be warned anyone getting a new superhub as part of their deal.
You MUST install the superhub and activate it for your agreed discounts to kick in! If you do not (and do what I did, continue using your old hub because you were busy) then your existing deal will continue.
Be aware - its just something to keep in mind!0
