Virgin Media Retention thread

The contract runs out Feb next year, how many weeks do I need to renew my contract?
Thanks0 -
When he called he asked what he could do to make me stay. I said let me pay just the same as Sky's line rental. He said, "what's that? About £17.50? OK."
He applied it to the account on a 12 month contract.
Would rather have a monthly discount rather than it all be front loaded
That's excellent  I've just recommended Virgin to a friend so that'll be £50 credit to him and I. I worked it out this morning and I won't be paying anything for broadband for 12 months since I paid the line rental up front a few days ago.
Despite all these price increases, it's somewhat ridiculous I'm paying 80% less (even without the £50 credit) than I was 12 months ago for a better package (and new SH 2 router). It shows there's a fair amount of profit margin to keep customers. It frustrates me you need to call to achieve such a deal but that's the world we live in, I guess.0 -
Been with Virgin 5 years. Price was due to go up to over £40 for our package. We were in the process of switching to BT @ £27.99 for 38Mb broadband and line rental, with £100 pre paid mastercard, plus we would get £120 cashback from Quidco. BT contacted Virgin because we were keeping our phone number. Next thing we know Virgin are on the phone and we are now paying £9 a month for 12 months for our old package and that INCLUDES line rental. Just need to be on the ball next year when the contract ends.0

They have now backtracked on the new hub, I have the hub 2, and was told I'd get a hub 3 to cope with the 200mb speed. It didn't arrive so I called them and was told the hub 3 isn't even out yet!Following me cancelling on Sat, I got a call from them yesterday.
They offered my current package for £44pm instead of £69 for 12mths.
After I said about the sky offers, they said I could have Dec's bill for free, and a new hub, which I agreed to.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
I had a letter today saying £3.99 price rise. I rang and they have told me I will not have an increase in February and they have reduced my bill from now so saving another £4 a month until Feb

Has anyone got a similar package to mine?
50mb BB
XL TV with Sky/BT sports
XL phone
Super Hub 2
TiVo box
I been with Virgin 10+ years and currently paying £101.93 a month. They just offered me what I already got basically but in the form of something called Big Kahuna Sports Bundle
plus 200mb Internet for £68.90 for 9 months and then £108.00. I assume it's a 12 month contract. A saving of approx. £279.00 over the year. I was hoping they would just reduce my monthly rate and gradually bump it up with increases like they always do. Has anyone had a better offer?

I wouldn't assume it's 12 months as it's more likely to be 18 month contract.

When I renegotiate they never say how long its for till you ask and it's usually 18 months but if you say you only want 12 they either agree or sometimes offer you a further reduction for 18 months which maybe worth it.Iv'e had many deals off them,All 12 month i wouldn't be tied to an 18 month contract,New customers are probably stuck with 18 month but not old customers.
