I have today put a 30 day cancellation on my account, I have the Big Kahuna Bundle, XL(200meg) BB, and the Medium phone, and they offered me a saving of £2.49 per month! They wanted £61.99 for 6mnths, then £68.99 for the next 12mnths. Hoping they call and offer a better deal before 19th DEC!!
Did you get a call back?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Following me cancelling on Sat, I got a call from them yesterday.
They offered my current package for £44pm instead of £69 for 12mths.
After I said about the sky offers, they said I could have Dec's bill for free, and a new hub, which I agreed to.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Called up a few days ago saying that I was looking to cancel because Sky were offering me a better deal.
Package before
200MB broadband
Landline (weekends only)
Big Kahuna tv package + Sports + HD
Was on £71 p/month
Got the following offer
200MB broadband
Landline (weekends only)
Big Kahuna tv package + Sports + HD
for £63 p/month (including upcoming Feb price rise)
Not a massive saving but good value for money for what I'm getting. All done in less than 5 minutes on the phone.0 -
I only had 50mb (now 70mb) broadband and the unused phone line since July. Was paying £21.99/pm on a new customer deal on an 18 month contract. Called to cancel a few days ago and received a retention call today.
12 month contract
70mb broadband + line rental
£17.50pm
Can't complain.0 -

If that includes your line rental that's a great price.
I only renewed my contract last month, paying £3.50/month + line rental which I just paid up front for another year (£164).
Haven't received my letter about prices going up so called and asked. Was told my bill is going up about 70% to £5.99. Told them I was told by retentions that if my bill does increase it won't be by much and so their colleague was stretching the truth since the increase is substantial. He went away came back and said the only thing he could do was to give me a £37.45 as a credit to my account to cover the increase (£2.49 x 15 months when bill increases in Feb - my contract is 18 months). Took him up on his offer!
Perhaps for anyone else it's worth saying the same and you want the increase waived.0 -
I haven't had any notification of price increase. Is the increase across the board?

I'm wondering this too.
I only had broadband with this and have just this month had a price rise. Cancelled and renegotiated my contract. I didn't receive any notification of the price rise last time and first noticed when my bill was £3 more than usual.
I really won't be impressed if there's yet another price rise in Feb for broadband customers.Sigless0 -

When he called he asked what he could do to make me stay. I said let me pay just the same as Sky's line rental. He said, "what's that? About £17.50? OK."
He applied it to the account on a 12 month contract.
Would rather have a monthly discount rather than it all be front loaded0 -
evening all.
virgin are a bunch of fly !!!!!!s.
for the second year in a row they have upped their annual costs, this year by £3.49 per month and their line rental saver (offer total is £164 for the year versus £204 full price - this offer expires 26/12/15. My contract expires in mid feb (currently pay £12/mth for tv M, b/band 50mb and talk weekends). So in order to save £40 on the line rental I have to commit to virgin for another year, before i have used the 'right i am leaving' threat i used last year to get a better deal.
not happy, thinking of going to sky or talk talk etc, but still want the digital b/band.
grrrr, i hate paying more than i have to!!!0
