Within a week usually 2-3 days

Thanks, someone from Virgin Media phoned today so hoping to get a callback later tonight.
  • Just looking for a bit of advice. I've been with VM since it was NTL. My current contract was in place when my Brother stayed with me, and has the full Sky Sports/Movies shebang, with all sorts of additional phone stuff that I didn't know was on there. Anyway, my current bill is £132/mth. Yeh, I know. My own fault for not calling them to get a better deal ages ago.

Anyway, I called tonight and was offered a similar package, with increased Broadband and a new TIVO box for £68/mth, then £105/mth after that, on a 12 month contract.

Question is, am I likely to get offered better than this if I give my 30 days notice? And if I do give the 30 days notice, can I change my mind on that before the 30 days are up?

    Thanks.

ALWAYS go through with the 30 days cancellation for the best offers. You can always cancel the cancellation and retry if you dont get called.

They say they dont call everyone, but they have called me everytime for 5+ years.

Need to sort mine out tomorrow, my LRS ran out.

Called in today to get my 30 days notice. Now the inbound retention team are rarely polite, but they are usually functional and when pushed will eventually come up with an offer you will consider, but alas discard and go ahead with the 30 notice.

Today the guy made no specific order but was the rudest agent I have ever encountered, and even when asked if he felt he was speaking appropriately he didn't change his attitude.

Now I would have accepted a mediocre deal before, on the basis I have more important things to deal with right now . But he's made a point of being an idiot so the offer they (will) make will now need to be a lot better (especially as they can review the call).

I'm all for the game of working out a deal but flat out lying ain't on.
  • Thanks for the reply. Anyone have any advice about what sort of price I might be offered if I get a call back from retentions? The current offer from the 'thinking of leaving' line is £68/mth for 6 months, then £104.95/mth after that. That's for 200Mb BB, TV XL, Sky Sports & Movies and Talk Evenings/Weekend, with a 500Gb TIVO, and I keep my current V+ box.

    Thanks.

Push for two TiVO's and HD on the sports/movies.

They can achieve better savings through giving you a year of line rental paid upfront (they do this on the retentions call back).

I have a similar package to you, except I have a 1TB and a 500GB TiVO - these are three and two years old respectively so we don't even talk about it when we negotiate.

I have today put a 30 day cancellation on my account, I have the Big Kahuna Bundle, XL(200meg) BB, and the Medium phone, and they offered me a saving of £2.49 per month! They wanted £61.99 for 6mnths, then £68.99 for the next 12mnths. Hoping they call and offer a better deal before 19th DEC!!
  • So I gave VM another phone again tonight to discuss further. I just wanted to confirm again the details of the offer made. Unfortunately, where the guy I spoke to last time couldn't be more helpful, and made me feel as if he wanted to keep me with VM, the woman I spoke to tonight had no interest in whether I stayed or not. She contradicted pretty much anything I said had been discussed on the first call, denying the offer listed above had been made and focussing on another (18month) offer made the other night that I had said I wasn't interested in. She also told me take it today or lose that offer despite me being told I had until the 23rd November in the first call.

It was really disappointing, after the first guy I spoke to. Her attitude was horrendous. So I gave my 30 days notice. If they phone back they phone back. If not it's their loss.

Sounds like they might have been related to the guy I got LOL

They tried to ring me twice at home today but wasn't able to talk - I really wish they would call mobiles - now I just have to hope they ring early tomorrow as I'll actually have time to speak to them.

Hope you get them tomorrow. I wasn't phoning to cancel tonight, but he attitude made me think "well if you don't want my £100+ per month, I'm sure someone else will".

Any idea if they phone out on Saturdays, or after 6pm during the week? And do they leave a message that you can call back on? I'm free for the next couple of days, but after that it becomes a bit patchy.
