I'm so peed off with Virgin I cancelled a month ago they rang as usual and after a 5 minutes argument we agreed on a price.2 weeks later i get the letter price going up £3 but hey were giving you another bt channel.Well they can stick the BT channel i'm gonna cancel again,This is the 3rd time this year iv'e cancelled and had to argue with them. When we agree a price were tied to it for 12months when they agree a price it means nothing.

Tbf BT sport Europe for an extra £3 is a bargain.
  • Think I have done ok.

I called and cancelled 2 weeks ago, and got a retentions call yesterday. I had xl TV, eve and weekend calls and 50 maps bb. I was up to £69 PM.

I have accepted large TV, as it h's all I ever use, and gone down to £45 plus a £50 credit on the account, so equivalent approx £41 a month.

    Savings £336 in a year.

    Happy with that.

Can I ask did you find it easy to get the reduction (its a good reduction) ? Ive been meaning to call and get a reduction myself.

I'm a long-time phone and broadband customer. Cancelled last week to move to BT Fibre and phone, keeping Sky TV.

    My offer from Virgin retentions:

XL TV including Sky Sports, Movies and BT Sport
    Tivo + V+ Box
XL Phone with called display and anytime calls
    100MB Fibre
    12 month contract.

    Monthly price is £83.50

I've checked the last few pages of this thread but can't see anything similar. Has anyone done any better than this?
  • Not difficult. I phoned 2 weeks ago and cancelled....30 days notice. Was made an offer. I then left it 2 weeks and phoned again to see if there were any better deals. Told no. Was then phoned 3 hours later with a better offer. I pushed that a bit, ie asking for £50 on account. Agreed.

Think Ill give it a go.

    Thanks.
  • What's the best deal anyone's managed on just phone and broadband.
I'm currently on 50mb Fibre, pay upfront for line rental and and monthly for anytime calls.
As a new customer I got 12 month contract with broadband at £4 a month for the 1st 6 months then £15 a month thereafter.
    Finest
Contract ends towards the end of the next month as I've only been them for1 year, I can't see then giving me a massive discount

    I have

    TV Size: XL
Broadband Size: XL (Up To 100mb)
    Tivo
    Talk Weekends
    £46.50

    Then
    Line rental
    £16.99

Loyalty discount @ £7 so overall its £56.49 per month

I cancelled due to the price hike and they cant / wont offer me a better deal, just £15 credit to cover 5 months of price hike.

Anybody else in the same boat?
