I thought I was about right, trying to play hard ball but doubt I will actually leave

I have
TV Size: XL
Broadband Size: XL (Up To 100mb)
Tivo
Talk Weekends
£46.50
Then
Line rental
£16.99
Loyalty discount @ £7 so overall its £56.49 per month
I cancelled due to the price hike and they cant / wont offer me a better deal, just £15 credit to cover 5 months of price hike.
Anybody else in the same boat?
Iv'e got the same as you now but for £41-50p including line rental it was £39 up to a month ago they then knocked off my so called loyalty discount so i cancelled. They came back at £41-50 but put bb up to 100 from 50.I'm just about to cancel again after the letter putting it up £3,They really pee me off with this agreeing to a price then sticking it up a few weeks later. Were tied for 12 month but they can put the price up anytime they want. You need to cancel and let it start going through then retentions ring there the only ones who can actually do a deal.0 -

Is a service provider puts up the cost of services, you are entitled to leave without penalty. There is a slight difference in how it applies to mobile providers, but broadly speaking if Sky, BT, Virgin Media and the rest increase the cost, then they have to let you know at least 30 days before the change, thus allowing you to exercise your right to leave.0 -
My VM loyalty discount has just run out and I need to find some non vm deals to threaten retention with. Unfortunately even after looking at Mse's broadband and tv section I am still having trouble getting prices for similar packages at the likes of talktalk, Sky and bt etc. There are so many options that I can't match up a like for like package.
I am currently on 50M broadband, M+ tv with tivo and talk weekends phone.
Can someone point to a cheap non virginmedia deal with a similar spec?0 -
I rang on 19th Aug as out of contact. I tried to renegotiate but the customer advisor said I was already on the best deal, i disagreed so gave 30 days notice.
I am on Big Kahuna package (weekend calls) with a V+ box in the bedroom and after the rise for BT Sport will be paying £70 per month.
My services will cease on 18th Sept, i'm pretty sure the agent said i will get a letter through the post confirming cancellation but i have nothing as yet, not even email.
Do they usually send a letter out?
Thanks in advance.0 -
Any help here guys?
I put my cancellation in after they were really didn't want to budge. Previously we had £14 loyal credit/mo
Broadband 50MB
TV M+ (Incl TiVO)
Asian TV Package
Phone L (Evening & Weekends)
£43.60/mo excluding line rental
Sky has an offer which works Virgins L TV equivalent + Asia package for £22.75/mo or just £13.75 if Topcashback works.
Heavily considering moving but we do really need fibre broadband (Sky/BT not available in our area for fibre)0 -

Have you worked out if it would be better for you to have just the TV with Sky and the Phone and broadband with Virgin?
I have Sky TV on a 60% off deal £26.40 (Family pack, Movies and Sport) at the moment and phone and broadband with Virgin currently paying £19.49 a month. Hold out for the retentions team from Virgin to ring you for a good deal on phone and broadband. Hope this helps0 -
Here's what they offered, any good?
(Same package)
Broadband 50MB
TV M+ (Incl TiVO)
Asian TV Package
Phone L (Evening & Weekends)
£45.26/mo incl line rental
Broadband 100MB
TV L (Incl TiVO)
Asian TV Package
Phone L (Evening & Weekends)
£50.65/mo incl line rental
50MB + Evening & Weekend
£25.76/mo incl line rental0 -
50 Mbps Internet without anything else.
12 months contract
£23.25/month
£50 credit
So £19.08/month after taking the credit into account.
They were offering something slightly better with a 18 months contract.0
