I must be getting all the rubbish Agents as the best they've offered me is a downgrade on my TV package OR £2.50 off after I complained about the latest price rise of £3 'for BT Sports' - well that's great, but we don't watch Sports AT ALL.

I am on TVXL, 50mb BB and Talk XL. I pay the line rental via the line rental Saver (ie a one off cost of £164) and have been with them 9 years and never had a single offer from them

I must be saying something wrong?

You have to actually cancel. Then outbound retentions will give you a good offer.

I have just called them, stated that sky have offered me a reasonable deal and I am wiling to consider it due to re-occurring issues with the reliability of the internet connectivity.

    now we wait.

    im the same

been with virgin for around 3 years coming up to 4

ive never had 1 offer from them, and my bills always seem to be well over £100 a month !!!!!!!!

im on 100mb / phone XL and just added TV XL

(as i realised that i was on m broadband with phone xl and paying £55, where they have a deal now which is 152mb broadband/ tv xl and phone xl for £55...)

they said 'oh that deal is only for new customers... you had an offer when you joined...'

    must of been a s h i t t y offer then...

Just rang to get new deal:
Kept: TV XL, 500G Tivo, XL Phone package and BT Sports

    Also got:
BB upgraded from 50 to 100Megs
extra V+ box for bedroom with free install
    one off £50 back
    3 months free Sky Sports
    inc Line rental
also backdated for 1 month when my old retention deal ended

For £56 per month for 6 months then £63.

Sounds like an ok deal. Probably could have cancelled then haggled further with retentions but this was all done on line with a representative in one go. Took about an hour to get there though

before adding the tv xl, my package was a flat fee of £55

i recently added the tv xl and they said without DD it will be around £75-79... with DD it will be £69

TBH i wanted it to be £55 still because even £55 a month is expensive...

Im sure people I know have tv, phone, broadband and are nowhere paying these high amounts a month...

With the £3 price-rise for BT sport letter that went out...
Is that grounds to be able to cancel/re-negotiate the entire package (big kahuna) or just the TV part of it?. I am currently only ~9months into the contract.

I'm still on £34 a month incl line rental for tv xl,152mb and weekend calls. Hope it doesn't rise too much when I call to renegotiate.

Called to cancel last Friday. Was paying £58.49 for XL TV 152mb BB and anytime phone calls. With the £3 price increase and my retention discount coming off my bill will be around £71 a month. I haven't had a call from outbound retentions and they have sent me the boxes to send back the equipment - are they likely to still call me?
