    Hello,

BB only. Received a call from retentions the very next day. Was paying £16/month for 30 MB. Offered £14/month, 50 MB & 2 months free. So the total for 12 months will be £140.
Was happy with 30 MB so requested price drop for that speed and asked for £10/month. Request granted instantly.

Last year paid £160 as 2 months was free.
    This year £120 saved £40

Update: just received an email offering 30 MB to 50 MB possibly free of charge. Registered interest, will find out the outcome in 3 days. If any extra charge then will be able to cancel in 7 days.

Another price rise letter - £3 more for the XL TV package from 1st September .

They seem to be squeezing us until the pips squeak!

Have until 31st August to give notice/renegotiate.

It's okay though, they were keen to highlight we are getting another BT sport channel that we will not watch ... why not keep our costs down by removing the "free" BT sport channels from XL and charging those who actually pay for and watch sports channels ...

Just phone retentions and ask them to honour the agreed price for the remainder of the contract. I just started a new contract with them two months ago and they did so for me without any problem whatsoever. I had to agree to another years contract starting today, but I was more than happy to do so as I'm happy with the price I'm paying.

    Hi

    I have

    50Mb cable BB
    XL TV
L phone and pay a crazy £64 per month.
    500 Gb box

With the crazy £3 rise (I am not a sport person), looking to move.

Sadly, my area is not BT cabled, nor destined to be,and my expected BB is 1.9 - 3.5! But, Sky with a decent TV package, same phone, same box, with 25% discount + various cashbacks would end up £30 pm for 12 months!

Would this be any good....don't download anything much, just use internet really.

Also, if threatening to move to Sky, do I sign up,and what is the cancellation policy?

Just nervous about ending up with nothing!!!

I have sky 1.9Mb BB and Virgin 50Mb

1.9Mb isn't very good! Pictures don't load very quickly. I would say no if you have more than 1 person in the house.

Try and get a better deal or loose the virgin TV

Thanks Andy. Trouble is, I have no bargaining power, as Virgin are really my only option ;-(

    Your paying too much now,
I cancelled a few weeks back i was paying £40 for
    50mb
    tv xl
    Tivo 500gb box
    weekend calls
They sent the last bill and it had gone up £15 they said it was my loyalty discount that had ended.I told them to cancell the lot i would go to sky.4 days later they rang me back after 5 minutes arguing they agreed £41-50 but would put the 50mb up to a 100mb,So i'm happy at that if i get the letter of £3 price rise i'll cancell again.
Go for it cancell they will ring back in a few days,And if they don't you have 30 days to ring them and say you changed your mind and want to stay with them.
I always record any conversations with Virgin some of them will lie through there teeth.

    Debt-free and Proud!
I cancelled last week. Took out Sky for £20 a month with £120 quidco and free 32inch Samsung TV. Was going to go with BT for phone and broadband but Virgin called me yesterday and offered 50mb Broadband and phoneline with weekend calls for £18 a month for 12 months.

Was chuffed with this :) I'm planning to switch to freesat in 12 months also
