Hi at the moment I have,
Talk Unlimited
TV SIZE M+
Broadband size L
paying £42.99 inc line rental my contract has come to a end
want the same package do you think I could get a better deal? thanks
We have had basically the same package but only TV M , including line rental for £30/m for the last 2 years. Then took the line rental saver on top and it dropped to effectively £27/m (£12/m for line rental + £15/m for rest)
Going to try and get it extended shortly as we are due a £6 increase in Feb due to the price increase. Will update once I've had a try.0 -

Seems so strange to me how some people are offered different prices for the exact same service and products from the same company. You wouldn't pay £6 for a bottle of wine from Tesco just after someone picked up the same bottle next to it for £5.
I'm paying £45.49pm for TV M+, phone and 'up to' 30mb internet. I got a letter yesterday saying it's going up £3.99 soon (didn't say inc. or ex. VAT). So I'm looking at circa £50 per month for a phone line I've never used, terrible TV that's no better than FreeView really and internet.
I'd LOVE to go internet only but they want £28.50 (again ex or inc VAT?) for that, mobile internet isn't v.good and broadband relies on phone line which is dead money. Or are there more options now?
I'm outside of contract with VM and have been for months, so i'm in the driving seat. I'm moving in 2 months time too so I feel like if they want to keep me, they should offer me a new contract that's much better - is this realistic? How do you contact VM without having to speak to someone, via Post or is there email? Ideally their retention department.0 -
Thing to do is phone up and tell them you will be moving shortly and hence would like to cancel. They will no doubt ask about the new place and whether they could provide a service there and thats a good opportunity to bargain for a deal. Make is clear you are not that happy with the service you get or the price you pay.0

Tobz you are overpaying massively0
-
Ring to cancel then await a call from them - if you call them you won't get anything decent.
They called me 2 weeks after I gave 30days notice, i missed the first call after a week.
Line rental saver £144
100mb £8.50 pm now rising to £11.50pm in Feb is what outbound retentions offered (which i accepted)
I have the lowest phone package which i don't use, there isn't even a phone plugged into their socket.0 -
I have to say, the advice to cancel and wait for a call did not work for me. I didn't get one. I know VM are a shambles generally but even by the very low standards I expected from them, they were significantly worse
thank goodness for Sky....

Been given a £15 discount because of poor internet. So I'm now paying £18 a month for the big kahuna inc line rental. Can't argue with that.0

All I manged to get was £3 pm off for 6 months, ie £18 got the whole big k package, SS SM & HD, but I paid a year in advance for line rental & SS/SM so thevye got me, if i cancel I lose the rental I paid up front till next August.0

So currently we have:
- up to 20mb broadband
- L TV (not TiVo)
Paying £46.29 a month with price increase going on of £3.39.
Obviously compared to new deals out there for the new bundles we are massively overpaying.
Rang to cancel and was offered the following:
- Big Bang package
- £43.99 for a 12 month contract with one month free, so averages at £40.32 a month
Best deal I've seen for new customers on this packages is an average of £36.47 a month (using virgins current offer of 12 months reduced cost with top cashback offering £141.40 cashback). So it's not much more, especially seeing as we wouldn't be able to get the new customer offer immediately...
What do you think? Is what we have been offered any good, or are we better actually going into the 30 day period and waiting for a phone call (though I've heard of lots of people on lower packages like ours not getting phoned back, which might be more common over the holidays?)0
