Using online chat I negotiated 50MB broadband and line rental with weekend calls for the following:
£144 up front for a year (phone)
£5.50 a month (broadband)
£30 credit to my account
So that's £180 for the year, effectively £15-a-month.0 -

Was that upon threat of cancelling? I only got £15.65 for 50mb and £20 credit. They used the fact that the alternative broadband options around me weren't as good value. To get 50mb with Sky or anyone else would require going on a top tariff which would be upwards of £20.0 -
My contract will finish next month.
Im currently paying £37 a month (inc line rental) for M+ TV, 500MB Tivo, 30MB Broadband, and Talk weeknds
Am i overpaying? Should i threaten to leave when i ring rententions? What should i aim for when calling.0 -
Just got off the phone with Virgin CS.
Was paying about £18 until my loyalty discount ended.
I'm currently paying £32.09 for the below package.
my package is:
152 BB
L Phone
Retentions dude told me there was nothing he can do at all.
I've asked for a disconnection, what are the chances of them calling me up and offering me a better price to stay on?0 -

That sounds to me like its already discounted as you've got the top BB at the same price as the lowest one.
Im on
30 BB (to increase to 50 with the speed increase)
L Phone
When my line rental saver and introductory offer ends in December I will pay paying the basic;
£15.50 BB 30
£15.99 Line Rental (Phone L)
£31.49 Total
So I'll be expecting that get a few quid off that when I cancel in a few months.0 -
I had a call from the outbound retentions team who offered:
50mb BB
M TV
M Phone
£24.99 p/m with two months free
And
50mb BB
M Phone
£14.69 p/m with a £30 credit0 -

It was a couple of weeks from an 0800 number. I quoted the PlusNet deal (100 pounds Quidco and 75 pounds from PlusNet) That was the best they could offer. I think the BB & phone package usually only has a 20 credit but a manager can approve a 30.0 -
Have just had a call from Retentions.
Dropped the price from £32.09 to £30.49 (£19.20 saved)
Got a one month credit (further £30.49 saved)
Paid line rental off with Line Saver (further £47.88 saved)
so total saving of £97.57 over the next 12 months.
not bad for:
L Phone
152 BB0 -
I accepted a final offer of:
50mb BB
M TV
M Phone
£21.99 p/m with two months free
Research the rival deals and cashback options and you'll get offered a better deal.0
