Wow, thank you so much. I'd be prepared to pay that so will ask them. I have emailed them initially so will see if I get any joy from that first.0

When comparing bundles be especially cautious about 2nd boxes you may have - these now significantly increase the price of a deal.
The new bundles removed a high amount of 2nd box discounts, if you have two Tivo's like we do then these are now a significant cost when moving to a new bundle0 -

Don't email them as the cancellation department won't be able to offer you a decent deal. I spent an hour on the phone to them because i was paying £72 for a package that was currently £62 for new customers. Cancellation department tried to get me to stay but they couldn't give me much discount due to the fact that it was a new "package". I said to the lady i would like to proceed with the cancellation and the call ended there. Just 2 days later i had a call from outbound cancellations as expected and now im on the same deal paying £43.
My advice to you is to cancel and then let retentions call you0 -
Ok. So dropped from 100mb broadband, for which I was paying £25 per month to 50mb as I got a a deal which means I am only paying £12.50 a month, and, yes whilst the speediest do indeed confirm I am getting 50 mb instead of the 80-90mb I was averaging previously, day to day normal surfing and usage of the www, downloading music and movies, I see little difference in the two two speeds other than waiting an extra 10-15 seconds for a on demand programme to download.
Regular web pages, e.g MSE, BBC, sky etc download without seeing any difference.
Save yourself a shedload of money and stick with 50mb. All this "upgrading" to 60 or 100mb is nonsense. Your wallet will thank you for it although your ego may be bruised a little. Just tell your neighbours you got 152mb, they are not going to know the truth...0 -

Just off the phone with a sarcastic lad who said the best he could do is give me 50mb for £19.50 a month then i would be charged higher with the price increase, making it £21.50.
I currently pay £29.49 for Talk unlimited and 100mb.
Not to bothered about the landline, but said i would go to Primus for £9.75 as its free evening and weekends, but in reality, i have the mobile phone so i should just use that...
He was rude as! Saying i will never get 50mb for less than £21.50 a month...
Ended up giving my notice for 30 days....what now?0 -

Wait for their call....
But remember, the cable product from VM is the best internet service in the UK (as a whole) so they can be sarcastic to an extent (although that doesn't mean to say they should) - but they know you won't get a better service for the cost.0 -

What now? Patience. When I rang to give my 30 days notice due to price increase the guy was aggressive and forceful. He was not from the retentions team. Be polite but go through with the Cancellation.
One week later I got the call...."how can we keep your business". The chap you spoke to was correct in the fact that 50mb is £19.50. The way to get it down is to negotiate a rolling credit on your account known as a " marketing correction offer". Your bill will show £19.50 each month then the correction is applied.
If you are a first time canceller, try and get a £5 rolling credit. It still brings it down to £14.50 a month.
One vital thing to remember, be polite to the person that rings you.0 -
rang VM, asked for my mac code as looking to go elsewhere as i already have sky tv
was currently paying 24.50 with a 1.50 price increase due taking it to £26
they offered me £20 for the next 18 months which seemed ok so i agreed
the CSR says there are always offers on when there is a price increaseNamed after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -

Good, but not as good as you would have got if you went through with the cancellation!
For everyone reading, if you cancel your services have 30 days, if they don't call you you can call back in the 30 days and retry the negotiation...you won't 'lose your services' unless you leave the 30 days to run...0 -
That all sounds ok, except that im not in the house all that often, work keeps me out alot where im usually in the house until 10:30 am and not in again until after 8pm.
The only day off in the week is a Monday...eeek i hope they catch me.
Failing that on the day before the disconnection is due, do i call up if i have heard nothing? Surely thats showing a sign of weekness, that i want to stay?
How can i change my contact details so its my mobile number they ring on?0
