The title says it all really.
Looking to cut back costs on broadband, so any tips are really really welcomed.
£25 a month does seem very steep. If poss would like to get something through QuidCo........:D

Of course you can
Just ring them up and tell them you saw a better deal that was advertised by SKY.
SKY were doing tv, broadband and phone for £17 a few months ago - check their site to see what they offer now.
Its always best to give examples of other deals. Hopefully they will transfer you to their rententions department - once you are there you will know for sure they will offer you a good deal.
I got broadband, tv, 20% of mobile calls, 10% off international calls and feee landline 24/7 all for £18.
Remember they dont want you to leave and go elsewhere.
There was a thread on this subject a while back - lots of info on it

Check the Virgin Media website to see what they offer new customers as well, then phone retentions direct (option "thinking of leaving Virgin Media" on the menu system) - they should easily do a better deal than that!

Just spoken to VM this morning as my 3 for £30 bundle (XL TV, M Broadband, M Phone, V+) ran out on 14 November 2008. Predictably they didn't tell me but they then charged me £51.47 from 14 Nov to 13 Dec and then £42.92 from 14 Dec to 13 Jan. I obviously queried this and they said that my 12 month deal had expired and that no bundle could reduce it right now but call back on 10 Jan when new offers would be available.
So, I rang back just now and got the same services for £32.75 (incl'd ebilling discount) and they've back-dated the cost to 14 Nov so I'm pleased.0 -

The usual V+ price is £150, they recently had it on offer for £75, to some for £30, but now on offer at £99.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
yeah i saw that but was wondering why they didnt match skys £49 offer rather that doubling it?0

If you are past your 12 months minimum term, then a call to retentions telling them you want to cancel as you can get Sky+ for £49 and list the products you can get and for what price, they usually offer you a deal to stay. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
We've spent time phoning Virgin today and absolutely no joy - they weren't interested in keeping our services, no offers, nothing, zilch!!! Got more joy when we phoned BT!!! And at least BT understood what we wanted regarding services. The only drawback with BT is that we have to reconnect the line but the offer was from £122 down to £29. So at the end of today we are no further forward.0

Just got my January Bill and its gone up £13 iv'e been on
XL TV
10MB BB was 4mb till the upgrade
Phone line rental free calls 24/7
Caller id
All for £29 a month for the last 18 months i had it in writing by email that this was a permanent deal it went up last june by £13 but after some haggling they dropped it back to £29 now they won't budge i even got through to the retention manager who gave it in writing 18 months back,She couldn't drop it back but would do a V+ box for £30 and if i wanted the original box in another room that would be an extra £5 a month. So new price is £41-95p a month she's ringing back tomorrow to see what i decide about the V+ and box in another room, i tried the i'll go to sky but no good.Has anyone got there original box in another room for free.0
