  • Can anyone let me know what is the best price Virgin will offer for the Broadband size m only package. Was paying £11 per month and they have now put this up to £18. I am with Sky for TV and phone and have a very good deal with them so do not want to swap them over to Virgin.
My other concern is if I change broadband provider is there a way of getting emails that would have been sent to my old email address diverted for a period of time so that I can make sure I notify all the sites I use of new address.

  • Hi folks!

First time post here so go easy on me!
After managing to get by without internet access at home for many years(!),
I've finally given in and would like a little advice.

I do live in a cabled area and have been looking at Virgin and have been offered £22.50 for:

    L Broadband
    M Phoneline

Plus £30 installation fee (or £15 for self-install).
Does this seem reasonable or is there room to negotiate as a 'new' customer? Also how difficult is it to self install?

    Many thanks!

Yeah I think I would like to get a phoneline too. Also noticed the website is offering £50 credit if you sign up for telly, broadband & phone which in the long run seems better value.

I called up and signed up to the 3 for £20 deal, which is 2 mb BB, Standard TV and weekend calls.

I then called back after we had booked for an engineer to come out to install to us and asked how I could the £50 cash back offer. The first guy said I would have to cancel the install and sign up online so I then went through to the cancels dept and the lady there was more understanding, I explained that if I had known about the website offer I would not have called and signed up that way. She has agreed to credit the £50 to my first bill. :j

I hope you got that in writing

Sorry, sure it will be fine but I NEVER trust any promises on the phone especially from people like that.

... check out their other offers before you sign up (2 months free also being advertised) - go through Quidco (www.quidco.com) for £65 cashback in addition to any deal that you find on their website.

Been wanting a V+ Box for a while but wasn't prepared to pay the reduced £75 installation so rung up to haggle them for a cheaper deal!

I asked the guy on the phone what was the best deal he could give me and he said £30 installation straight off, no monthly charge (you need the XL TV though!). Done deal and no haggling required!

Just wanted to let people know to see if they can get the same deal!
