Just got 2Mb for £10 for another 6 months:

Customer services, Option 2 then follow the I want to disconnect 1 or more services.

I mentioned I had the offer last year and they said to ring back in 6 months at the time (they did) to get it added again. I did find out that they have to upgrade to L, put some code in, then downgrade to M to make it work.

    "upgradings for the downgradings".
  • I have never posted anything on this website before, I have just read all of the postings and put them into pratice and they have all worked and saved me money. So I think it is about time I tookpart as I am now a money saving expert too!

I have been with Virgin for a year for internet only with no home phone, my contract is up for renewal and after reading a few threads on here I called them to see if they would be able to reduce the monthy charge of £18.00 per month they said they were happy to reduce to £14 as long as I took out another years contract, I thought this was good but didnt commit and said I would call back.

the next evening did my research on other companies tarrifs as reconmended by MSE and I called tem back and managed to get internet for £10 per month and I dont have to renue my contract.

Thank you every one you have saved my family ££££££££££££

I have been with VM for many years and thought I would look around for better deal. So I did then called them to say I wanted to find out about leaving them. The young lady asked "Oh why" - I replied "Credit Crunch" then she went on saying well I can get you a better deal than your on.

Phone - Free Evening & Weekend - Suits me
V+ Box - Free Install - Liked the idea of that
TV - XL Package - As before
BB - Large - As Before
Extra box in kid's room - as before

    For £42.00 Per Month

    I am happy with that

    at the moment i get

phone free evening and weekend calls
v+ box which i got free and installed free
    XL tv
    L BB
extra set top box in bedroom

    pay £42.75 per month

Well this is what we currently pay for services

    TV:L = £11.50
    Broadband Medium = £18.00
    Phone line rental = £11.00
    Talk unlimited = £7.95
    Talk Mobile = £1.50
Additional set top box = £9.50

Grand Total = £59.45 including VAT

I rang CS yesterday to better my deal or reduce the cost to little avail.

They offered me a £6.00 reduction on my monthly bill and an increase to 10 mb BB..... BTW i asked for a V+ box and they told me the only way i could have one was to pay installation £99 and £5 monthly fee! obviously i didnt push hard enough judging by your services and monthly fees

i cant believe in this day and age that these major players can quite blatantly supply such an unlevel and unfair playing field or more to the point be allowed too!
  • that was my husband 2 years ago!

Would get back on the phone damn sharpish if I were you.

No one (with any sense) pays £18 for medium BB.

You should only be paying £10 a month, that's about as low as I have heard them go, but I have never known them refuse it to anyone.

Your TV:L is about right though. Not sure about the rest as I don't have any of that.

I notice you have Talk Mobile (to help try and bring down the rip-off costs VM charge to mobiles).

Have a look also at Call 18185 (using their 0808 access number) you can get weekend calls to mobiles for 4p/min, beats the 11.01 / 7.34 VM charge, weekdays are 10p/min so a saving on the 11.25 VM charge for daytimes, but dearer than the 7.5p for the evenings. So use VM for evening calls and 18185 for other times to mobiles. If you had a BT line, the weekday calls with 18185 are 6p/min.

18185 also charge the same to numbers originally or still on 3, 18185 do not have a monthly charge. VM really sting you for calls to 3 numbers.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
