How long should i wait for the call?

You should get a call within the first week to be honest...you can also change your mind at any time during the 30 days...

    No.

    Cancel.

    Wait for call.

If they don't call, take Offer. Nothing lost.

I'm confused how VM work. Are cancellation and retention teams different departments? I just clled asked for cancellation and gave my notice.
Does that mean VM retention team will call me back even though i gave my notice?
Id take a £17.10 for 30mg and calls any day. But best they'd could offer me was £20.50 for Broadband only (ie not pass the price increase on to me)
I figured Bt offer is £21 after you factor gift card in etc. But I'll get calls, Bt sport and Bt zone WiFi hot spots as well.....not that I'll use them lol but it's still there if I chose to.
The only bad point I see it's a slower speed up to 19mg and it's 18 month contract.

Might have to live without internet and wait for the new Ofcom ruling comes into play....I can do it :).....maybe
  • My current package

    TV XL V+ HD
Phone XL - Multi Talk 1000
    Broadband L - 20MB

    + Line Rental £15
    - £10 Loyalty discount

    = £61.14

Is this a good/bad deal and is it possible to negotiate for lower charges when you already have a £10 loyalty discount?
  • hey guys, So i got a call this morning and after one ring they hung up before i could answer. 1471 revealed its from a withheld number. The detective in me is hoping it was virgin, so rung up saying i missed a call. Asked if it was them, and was told maybe lol. Asked if they could pass onto call me again today as i work irregular hours.BTW im due to be D/C next Wednesday :(

At the moment i pay £28.50 for 60meg and Talk unlimited.

Searching on comparison sites is a waste of time. The speeds Virgin offer are superb compared to other companies. Cant get fibre here from anyone other than Virgin that i can see.

So bearing this in mind they have me by the *you know what*. What discount is reasonable to expect? If any?

This is the deal I'm on
    Bundle Charges:-
    Talk International
    Talk Mobile
    Talk Unlimited
    Calldisplay
    TV Size: X L
    1 Additional V Box
    V HD Monthly Fee
    V+ HD Monthly Fee
    Broadband XL(20)
    Phone, TV & BB Saving
    Mates Rates
    Bundle Charges total £34.11

    Telephone Line Rental £14.99

package total £49.10 plus £5.75 price increase

This in simple terms is XL TV, XL Phone, up to 20 mb broadband, and a few extras thrown in.
I thought I was on a good deal until the £5.75 price increase came in. Do you people in the know reckon I have a chance of improving my deal, say a tivo box? And secondly are they OK with cancelling a cancellation if it came to it?

You can cancel your cancellation at any point during the 30 day cancellation period - this is why its so easy to do, you have nothing to lose...

I currently have 60Mb broadband, M phone and XL TV with Tivo plus an additional V+ in the bedroom. I have had a loyalty discount for the past two years, my current monthly bill is just over £54. I've spoken to Retentions who've offered the same package at £61.99 (including the February increase), or pay line rental upfront reducing the monthly bill to £47. I wanted to drop broadband to 30Mb but it only dropped the monthly bill down to £59.49.

If I give notice are they likely to offer anything better? Not sure what to do for the best.

  • Still no call back and im due to be cut off tomorrow.

Do i let them cut me off and wait and hope to get an offer or call up and ask what they can do?

Really dont wanna be without Internet as i watch a lot online.. :(
