Isn't that a breach of the data protection act?

putting in a postal code in a website?

It also asks for the landline number tied to the postcode ;)

I'm not sure if it's a breach, hence the question :money:

This broadband checker provides a detailed breakdown of DSL, cable and wireless services available at your location. Enter at least one of the following inputs and click "Search".

Works just fine with a postal code, and no, no breach.

    &

What process do i need to take to get a deal?
  • Hi all my package as follows

    Tv L

Just call up VM retentions in Jan (assuming you're on a 12 month contract) and say you want to cancel because you can get a better deal elsewhere. I'm currently paying £10 line rental via the "line rental advance" offer and ~£9 for 20mb BB.

I'd suggest staying on the same BB package for now as VM are going to upgrade everyone to 50mb over the next 6 months or so.

Don't need to wait till Ian, just call and cancel due to price rise...
  • I have been with Virgin for years and had a discounted package with:
Line rental (I didnt have a phone plugged in)
    Tv med with Tivo
    60mb broadband

I was on discounted rate of £27 which was great.
This expired and I noticed I was now paying £46. I dont really use the tv and dont use the phone at all so called to negotiate a deal.
To cut a long story short they couldnt offer me anything really and the guy basically rubbished all their competitors which annoyed me. I explained that I didnt want to hear from him how bad hs competition was but what he could offer me.
I ended up giving notice of cancellation which has become an annual pantomime we as customers seem to have to endure. Four weeks on and no call from retentions and my service terminated. Nice customer care Virgin!

Oh dear. Well I suppose you could say they provided good customer care as they did exactly what you requested. What do you propose to do now?
