Im also in a similar situation guys, Put my cancellation in today so have until 30th November,
Whilst Im happy with VM, I cannot justify the £75. pm anymore, We currently get 60mb BB, XL TV (TIVO And V+ in additional room) and XL Talk with 0870/mob
Went through everything with SKY today and can get a fab deal for 9mths (including All movies for £51 for 9mnths and then £72.75. (After that I may move again!)
Have it on a quote so can go and get it soon if needed...0 -
Spoke to retentions after they rang me following cancellation. They couldn't offer me any reductions with same service as they had me on the top loyalty.
Have removed V+ box, reduced tv to M+ from XL, Broadband increased from 20MB to 30MB, being sent a free SuperHub.
Reduction of approx £17 per mth
So now on:
Tivo
V Box
M+ Tv
M Phone
30MB Broadband
£28 per month + Line Rental
Seems okay.
Going to sky would be a pain as would need a BT Line etc or if I wanted freeview would need new aerial installed0 -
I put my cancellation in on Wednesday - but i missed the outbound retentions call on Friday as i was at the hospital with my Wife..
Will they call back?
The other issue is i am at work most of the day and they will likely call when I am not in...? Do they ever make evening / weekend calls?0 -

I called Virgin Media to try and reduce my monthly bill, I was offered the deal to pay 12 months line rental upfront which I declined saying I was more inclined to do without the landline. Guy offered to put me through to his colleague who could offer me a broadband only deal but i hung up after waiting a few minutes as I was unsure what suited me best. Anyway they rang me straight back and offered me a £10 per month discount for 18 months on my M broadband + phoneline with evening and weekend bundle.:T0

What's your total per month after discount?0

Hi there, I have been with Virgin for 10 odd years I think, I joined when they were Telewest.
I feel my monthly bill is way to high and have been reading through this thread at some of the great deals some of you manage to get. I was hoping for some tips/advice on how to get the best deal.
Currently I pay £72.69, for that I get -
TV - M+
Broadband - L up to 20mb
Caller reject
Weekend and evening calls.
Sky sports 1 &2
I would be happy to do away with evening calls.
My router is an old WebSTAR one.
I have checked out deals with Sky and could get pretty much the same deal for about £50 per month for 6 months then it's pretty much the same price. The problem with sky is to have their fibre optic broadband I have to pay an upfront fee of £50 (which I can't afford right now).
I have been putting of ringing Virgin as I know they use foreign call centres and I struggle to understand them and I'm sure when I say I want to leave they will just say 'oh ok' and give me a disconnection date.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.0 -
I have spoken to retentions 4 times in the last 3 weeks. Each person was English and helpful.0

Slightly off topic but do others get multiple emails from this money saving forum to say a new message can be read. I had 7 to remind me of this one reply!!0
