  • I'm currently on 120 broadband, M+ tv and M phone and am paying approx £57/month which I don't have a problem with. The price for the package isn't my issue. Thing is, I disconnected my landline phone months ago due to telemarketing calls + I've unlimited free minutes on my mobile phone plan so I just don't need a VM landline.
Also, the last time I switched my tv on was again months ago. I just don't watch tv at home.
I emailed customer services to ask about dumping the phone + tv and they told me I'd be losing a "£20 discount" (no idea what that is) so I'd be paying approx £7 less. Thats £50 for 120 broadband only.
I think I'll be making the call tomorrow. Trouble is I can't get another decent broadband supplier where I live. I think I'd have to be paying £30ish with a phone line for a paltry 14Mb (max) line.

    My package
Xl tv,Xl phone,20mb broadband with call ident and anonymous call rejection all for £54.44 inc a month which includes a loyalty discount of £12.just called customer services to reduce bill by going to M+ tv which would increase my bill by £0.50p a month?.(smaller package with increase in price ?)Im out of contract and would be interested wether my current package is reasonable or not. Pls comment .
The reason I'm looking to reduce package is the ever increasing premium 0780 etc phone calls which are not included in my package, last months bill
    £68.

    My gf package

Talk Mobile 10 (600 minutes to mobile numbers)
    Talk Weekends
    Fully Itemised Billing
    Free Voicemail
TV Size: L V HD Monthly Fee
    Broadband XL(30)

    Bundle Charges Total total: £48.25
    Phone line rental: 14.99
    Phone package L

    Package Total: £63.24
+ £5 on top for not paying by direct debit = £68.24

She phoned up today and they offered her £55pm on new contract and said she is on a good package as it is. Any advice on how she could get a better deal or if a better deals could be acheived. She don't want to give up the L TV package or the 600 minutes to mobiles which is £10pm, but included in the price above.

I'm an existing VM customer on the following:

    BB L (30Mb)
    Phone M (paid upfront)
£18/mth plus £120 for the phone

Currently don't have TV but am interested in adding TV L. I'm 6 months into my 18 month contract. In the existing customer offers it says I can get this + 500Gb TIVO for another £20/mth. Am I likely to be able to beat this if I phone up, given I'm not out of contract?

We are looking to move our home phone and broadband to VM - currently we have the XL TV with them. I've been offered the following:

3 boxes - 1 TiVo, 1 recordable and one standard (we need 3 boxes)
    Free evenings and weekend calls
    XL TV
    60Mb broadband, hub
    Free installation
At a cost of £70.09 pm

    Is this a decent deal?

I sent cust services an email saying I found it amazing that I could not have services for the prices as advertised on their website. I wasn't looking for discounts or the cheaper initial offer given to new customers. I just wanted the final price as quoted or I'd be cancelling.
I then received a letter confirming my cancellation request. Ok I thought, not a problem. I then phoned the cancellation dept to confirm a date for the collection of my equipment. I was then asked why I was leaving. I replied that I was being given the runaround regarding pricing to my requested change of services, including this £20 "discount" I'd be losing. I also pointed out I could get broadband & phone for £20/month or less for most other suppliers. I was asked what they could do to keep me to which I told them all I wanted was to pay the prices stated on their website. Within 10 mins I'd got exactly what I wanted with an apology to go with it.
M Phone and 60Mb broadband for £34.99/month. I wasn't after any special offers nor was I interested in haggling. I just wanted the right price for what I was getting.
    Quite happy now :)

Won't you have to pay the line rental on top of that too though?

Nope. The package is calculated at £19.50 + £15.99 line rental so total is actually £34.49. Thats how it's stated if you choose a bundle as a new customer after the initial 6 month period so that's what I said it should cost me.

Ahh, I see! Only asking as ours is coming up again to barter with them and we want to drastically reduce ours as it's £97 a month! :o

I don't know if this is still running but have you tried googling"mates rates" as they used to do a cracking deal if you had 2 of the services and you added a third.
