but ive already got one so will sell it on ebay for £20.

It's not yours to sell. Keep hold of it, your's will likely break.

If you sell it, they are entitled to invoice you for its non return.

It's been a while since the last box was installed in my Mum's house and she is well out of contract so I thought I'd have a go at getting a price reduction and/or a TIVO box for her.

She's currently got basic TV, 20MB BB and Unlimited calls for £40.

I called the other night and spoke to a lady who offered a basic package for about £38/month or the same with unlimited calls for £42/month, she wouldn't budge on the £50 fee for TIVO install so I left it.

I just had another try now and got through to a guy who seemed a bit more helpful and offered a package for £30/month with M+ TV, 30MB BB and the same talk unlimited on the phone line. He did give me the name of the package but I forgot to note it! I asked about the install fee and he said it's usually £50 but he could do it for half price at £25.

Seemed like a decent offer as she wanted to get the bill down if possible. I did ask him what the catch was, if there were any other fees, but he said that was it, the tie-in was 12 months but he confirmed that the prices would be valid for 24 months.

I wasn't expecting an offer like that and would probably have stayed with the £40/month if they could have gotten the TIVO cost down. I'll check the paperwork when it comes through for any differences but he seemed like a pretty genuine guy on the call.

Has anybody heard of that package before?

It looks like this post from Chopps has details of the same package:

I do recall him saying something about 150 minutes of mobile or 0845 numbers in the call.

That's a good offer if it really is for the M+ tv package and not their minimum offering of M instead.
(M tv is essentially same as the basic Freeview channels)

They currently have a promotion on anyway where M tv customers are temporarily upgraded to M+ until April.

I am paying virgin media £67.89 for

    Xxl phone
    XL tv
And 10mb broadband. (This could be 30mb but refuse upgrade see below)

This includes a discount of £22.00 a month. Don't know if this is a good deal or not.

I can upgrade free to 30mb broadband but I refuse as I have had major problems with the superhub that they say you must have to get the 30mb broadband. I have had 5 superhubs and even using them in modem only mode with a router the wifi is appallingly bad. I have had to sit next to the hub to get wifi. It won't even get 10ft without clonking out!

Sounds like too many routers sharing the same channel...its not the superhub's fault (for once)....

Tried all the various channel options over a couple of weeks. Made no difference at all. Went back to the old router and modem combo and its perfect! I refuse to lose my old router/modem combo now!

I have just called virgin media and changed my package slightly and still save a bit of money but getting more.

Now paying £67.74 and will get TiVo 500gb box and old v+ box to bedroom and Xl tv, xxl phone and large broadband.

The last deal I was on was slightly more but for a lot less. Happy now. 12 month contract.

I was told they are bringing out a new broadband hub in a few months. If that one actually works I will take the free upgrade to 30mb broadband.
