maybe none of the 47 felt qualified to assist?

You can get mobile broadband without a BT line

    • Cheapest alternative broadband.
      Virgin Broadband with phone. £16/month

If you've been cut off from BT or don't want/have a landline your broadband options are limited. The cheapest non-BT broadband is Virgin's Broadband with phone* for £16/month which includes a cable landline. If you're already with Virgin try haggling; some users have reported substantial savings on packages after threatening to leave. Some have even managed to get installation fees refunded, no questions asked. Read the Virgin Media Haggling article for more details.

Maybe most of them though that the OP could have easily answered their own question with very little research!

    Possibly.
Perhaps the OP will come back and let us know what they have decided to do?

Just been off the phone with virgin, the bloke i spoke to did not know about the 12days of xmas offer.
I have to direct him to the website, he ended up telling me that as i have 2mb bb at £10 a month i won't be able to get the size L tv for £10 a month:confused:
Asked to speak to a supervisor he said they ve all gone home:mad:.
Will have to ring them back tomorrow but dunno how to get to retentions.
    Any ideas please!!!

Supervisors/team leaders very rarely leave a team except in emergency meetings - and they never leave before their workers.

In other words, you were lied to!

I can't remember the exact options, but you need to navigate towards "I want to change my package" or "I'm thinking of leaving"

Anyone else had a "We have made a mistake in your billing" letter from Swansea?

In my case a blatant lie that I " have not been charged for TV which we will correct on your next bill", without any further explanation!

Is this their normal way of getting rid of previous negotiated dicounts on retention or package deals. Or are they turning the screw up and dropping discounts altogether where they can?
I feel a churn coming on as then Sky will be much cheaper for me.

I have been on a loyaly package with V+ , second box, Tel, BB and a number of discounts resulting in a £65ish bill, removing the discounts would push it close to £100. I CAn live without it at that price and I can get similar cheaper elswhere, but like the quality of their broadband.

They seem to be handing the thing over to Sky especially with the + pricing, doh come back Barclay Knapp with his lovely cheap Cabletel

Called Virgin again this morning the first bloke i spoke to said i can get the deal for a tenner only for him to put me on hold return back and said sorry, i can't as the offer is with a virgin home line.
I hung up and called back but choose the option for disconnections, the lady i spoke to asked why i want to terminate my bb and mobile servie, i said cos i'm not getting the deal as they advertised on their site, she tried playing the silent game, i'm good at that lol, after a couple of seconds she asked what next i expect from them, i said i want the Tv at the price advertised cos there is no T&C on the webite that state its for only customers with home phone or new customers with home phone.
She xferd me to a good bloke in sales who said he need to speak to his manger to see if it is what they can do, he came back 5 mins later and said as there is no T&C on the offer, the manager have agreed i can get it.
I'm getting half price installation as i'm doing it as self install, already got their box fitted in my lounge.

  • Lo guys wondering if you could help.

Was on a 3 for £32.50 deal for the 2mb broadband... L TV package.... and free weekend calls deal. Decided to phone up and got put through to "customer relations" and talked a bit and she changed my package to £33 for 10MB broadband, L TV, and free weekend calls.

Now... i was quite happy when she told me this... but after I got off the Phone... i started to think it was a bit too easy.... and now I think i could get a better long term deal.... such as a lower monthly price or upgraded to XL TV package.

Can i get some advice from you guys as you's know better than me.... Has anyone got a better package than this OR does anyone think i could do better than this?? I don't think i actually stated I wished to leave virgin (although i know that saying those words may trigger better deals) but I'm intending to say 'I want to leave' if I phone up again.Your help would be appreciated as I only have till next Wednesday 17th to cancel this deal i already accepted.... Cheers lads
  • I was paying £54,50 for XL TV and XL BB. My contract is expiring tomorrow, so I phoned them up. They have agreed to charge me £42 per month if I stay with them for 12 months again....I think I did very well. Just waiting for the confirmation email I asked them to send me, outlining what has been promised.
