£5.59 increase letter landed this morning - I'll be ringing them up again just like last year...and the deal will have to be really good this year...
last year I was told the price was fixed for 12 months...increased by 11.3% over the year grrr0 -
After much to'ing and fro'ing I agreed to a free month, superhub and reduction of £11 a month for 12 months for bb and television, 18 months for phone, and a note made on my account that if I phone them just before the year is up they will sort out another deal for me..
Don't count on this! We got the same last time, after 12 months rang up when the loyalty offer ended on the phone and got told no your contract for your phone is 18 months so thats it your loyalty offer ended. So been paying much more these past few months! Won't fall for that again.0 -

Thanks PP, that's got me thinking. Did you get it in writing, or just words over a phone line? Am very tempted to call them and just cancel the whole thing but not sure I'd get the same offer elsewhere. Time's running out so I'll start searching now.0 -
just wondering if i got a good deal from virgin media retentions . 100meg bb with free homehub . tv m. and phone with talk unlimited with 0845 and caller display for £42.85 for next 12 months but will have to pay an extra £3.60 from feb next year due to price increase.0

Push for the VIP collection at the same price - the retention team may say no, but make sure you get them to write down what you asked for and go ahead with disconnection - you get 30 days to 'change your mind' they get 30 days to call you back with an offer.
I'm currently paying £91 a month for the equivalent bundle - although I am 'only' on 50mb instead of the 100mb they quote (no need for it and they will upgrade to 100mb for free eventually...)
Thanks to visidigi I have spoken to retentions and got the offer of the VIP package for £88.25 including the Line Rental Saver, which I am reasonably happy with but the guy said he would ring back later to finish off the deal but he never rung back so going to try to use that to get another £5 a month off!!:rotfl:0 -
Just a quick update from my post from last night, spoken to Virgin again today and thanks to not ringing last night the guy threw in a month for free so effectively we have the VIP package ( 100mb BB, TV XL Sky Movies, Sky Sports, Sky HD, Phone XL extra and 1TB Tivo and V+ HD Box) for £80.90 a month which we would have taken before! Without this thread I wouldnt have been able to get this so thanks!:beer:0

I'm gonna give them a call today and see what they will do for me, I expect they will try and claim I am in a contract, but I know they've put in notes (or at least told me they did) that I am not bound by anything.
Just need to see how cheap I can get it, especially after doing my sums this morning and finding Virgin have actually put the monthly fee up 15.1% since January :eek:0 -
My increase is only £1.15 so I won't bother. I'll be still paying less than £20 per month for 10Mb Broadband (to be upgraded to 20Mb).
These price increases are a great opportunity for many to cancel their contract without penalties or getting a better price0 -
Virgin have changed their menus and they are now purposely difficult to reach the retention team...
so while I wait to get through to them here's the options you need when dialing from 150...
Press 1 to confirm you are calling from the number that is linked to your account...
Press 4 to make a change to your Package...
Press 6 for thinking of leaving Virgin Media...0 -
Disconnection date booked - twiddle thumbs time now to see if they decide to call me...with my ARPU being as high as it is I would expect they would...0
