What have you got such a bee in your bonnet about?
They have told you the deal they have got, I don't see what your problem is?
Its not their deal I am questioning, its the fact the poster has dissed deals achieved by others by making out they were a poor effort - which providing no evidence of the prices that they were saying that specific poster should achieve.
'The bee in my bonnet' is the way the particular poster decided, after a few posts, to pick on others efforts.
So I simply asked for proof - the price quoted was so good I would be interested in the same and was asking for the discounts given for the price quoted for this case - merely so I can get the same.
In doing so this poster decided to get aggresive and insulting.0 -
I think your reading too much into it tbh, from looking at the posts myself, I think they have clearly missed the sky sports when they have read the post they quoted.
They gave you the information on the deal they have, which doesn't have sky sports, so just add £20 to that.
If you ring virgin telling them a package that someone else has it means nothing to them, they negotiate the prices and discounts with the individual.
I have been offered about 4 different packages so far and I have only rang them twice.0 -
Indeed - I too suspect SS was missed, but then that was all that needed to be said - insulting members isnt big or clever.
Knowing the specific discounts is actually more important than you think - the new accounts system will only allow them to do certain discounts at certain times, not necessarily customer specific, now more system specific.
For example, when TiVo activation applied they could not discount that, but they could discount the line rental by 50% to make the price lower - they could also offer goodwill for service issues but they were very clear to say this 'is not a discount on activation of TiVo' - it was goodwill, which conincidentally would reduce the amount needed for TiVo activation.
Time of discount and time of agrrement is also critical - three months ago all talk was about activations, now activations aren't the issue.
The reason I was specific on knowing the discounts is purely because the new system they have restricts them to certain discounts at certain times - critical if I was to call them today to reduce from my discounted VIP bundle that I currently have.0 -
Just a quick quesiton- i gave my 30 days notice and got called by retensions 4 days later. Went through what i wanted and what I could get elsewhere and the bloke made an offer which i didn't accept. He said we'll put the disconnection through.
Should I be expecting another call? or is that it?
One poster claimed you would get another phone back after you disagreed with the original offer by that evening.Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -
Del_Boy_Gupta If they don't ring you back, you have still got your 30 day notice period to change your mind if you actually want to stay with them.
You can just ring them and tell them you have changed your mind.
Any offers they have made you should be stored on their system.0 -
visidigi - all my last bill says is the following, it doesn't have the itemised discount that you are asking for.
I'm hoping to get what I have, plus tivo, keep both boxes I have for other rooms, upgrade BB to 30m, a super hub, but for the same or lower price if possible. Last offer was £60.40 for that package, but I turned it down to see if retentions ring me to offer me something better.

Liam, this is exactly what I have currently. I am really curious if they throw in loads compared to what they offered me...see above0 -

Its okay, I wasn't after yours, but I can see the deal you're going for - Id expect you to get the changes you want at the price you pay now to be honest - I think that would be a fair deal if they will drop to it. I suspect your difference might be the monthly fee they are charging on the V+ for getting TiVO too - might be worth asking them if they are charging you for that in the three box request and see if they can drop it, that will get you close to your existing price...you're not able to compare online to new customer tariffs though with three boxes thats not easy to have anything to compare it to other than another customer on here.
I need to call to renegotiate mine soon as my free premium HD runs out next month and that will take me up a fair amount per month...hence why I was asking about the other quoted price - its less than half I pay.0 -
visidigi - The way I see it is, if I was with sky those boxes would be mine after 12 months, so it isn't really costing virgin anything for me to keep them and put them in the bedrooms.
I can see where you are coming from if you have the vip package with sky movies and sky sports, I do think ffb4 has just made an honest mistake though and they are not comparing like with like.
I queried how much it would be with sky sports on my package and it was £69.90, but there were that many prices flying around and different number of boxes and tivo, I am not sure which price is which now?!
I have got the package and price I want all at hand now, so I am ready for them when or if they call me.
It is a bit of hassle but worth it if you get what you want at the price you are willing to pay.0 -
thing is the comparison with sky is not valid on the boxes, after 12 months they are your boxes and sky wont touch them if they break. VM boxes are rented and maintained for the amount they charge.
Sure you might have paid for the boxes for a while, but if it broke you'd want it fixed right...of course you would...as would I.
Im sure VM will come close for you, you can call up a few days before the end of 30 days to cancel if they dont so you wont lose much.
Sky Sports is £22.50
Sky Sports and Sky Movies is £29.50
Theres little if any movement in those prices at all from what I've been told by VM employees.0
