Its okay, I wasn't after yours, but I can see the deal you're going for - Id expect you to get the changes you want at the price you pay now to be honest - I think that would be a fair deal if they will drop to it. I suspect your difference might be the monthly fee they are charging on the V+ for getting TiVO too - might be worth asking them if they are charging you for that in the three box request and see if they can drop it, that will get you close to your existing price...you're not able to compare online to new customer tariffs though with three boxes thats not easy to have anything to compare it to other than another customer on here.

I need to call to renegotiate mine soon as my free premium HD runs out next month and that will take me up a fair amount per month...hence why I was asking about the other quoted price - its less than half I pay.

If you have already accepted is there scope to knock back when you receive written confirmation, or have I made a !!!! up and no going back expect threatening to leave?

I am sure there are cooling of periods etc. it may make it hard if you accepted and then go back trying to get a better deal. If you were happy to accept it at the time, try not to read too much into what other people get.

Been reading this thread, very useful and felt I should share my experience. Currently have:

    XL TV
    L BB
    M phone
    V+HD box

Rang up and said for same monthly rate I could get 20Mb broadband, caller ID and evening calls with Sky. Plus £116 cashback and £100 M&S vouchers. Lady I spoke to was quite abrupt and began slagging off Sky and what they could actually get BB wise, also made allegations of Sky being cowboys and will just rip me off!

Eventually she got to an offer of £25 for TiVo setup/activation and £47 per month, I stated that Sky were effectively still a tenner cheaper per month roughly and got my cancellation date. Now just waiting on the call back for another offer.

Ideally I'd like a package of TiVo (no setup), BB upto 20Mb, V HD box moved to bedroom, XL TV package and evening calls added - for around £40-£45 per month. Would also be interested in Sky Sports HD package if I could get that added for a total of around £60.

Will update how I get on.

Well after a week of them missing me on outbound calls, I managed to speak to them this morning. I got my existing package offered to me for £38 and my current box moved to the bedroom or with Sky Sports in HD for £62. Have taken up the second offer :j
  • Hi Clemontyne, Is that with Tivo?
  • Yeah
    TiVo in sitting room
Moving my current V+ HD box to the bedroom
XL tv + sky sports in HD
sticking with L broadband and weekend calls (didn't push on this as it is already adequate for us)

£62 per month for 12 months. Got what I wanted.

That's brill. Well done for sticking to your guns and getting what you want. :T

It's made me less happy with mine now though :( I'm going to be paying £14 (£17 with call barring) a month more for the same package!

I have no choice than to conquer my fears lol and ring them back and cancel. My fella is going to ring sky and check out what deals they have at the moment. To see if they're worth quoting to Virgin.

If you remove the phone in many cases your overall bundle price will go up. Check before you remove.

  • Sorry Anon, I edited my post and removed the phone comment lol.

I think you're right, The supposedly good deal I was given was due to me taking all 3 services. I don't need a phone, when I had one last it was a nightmare, Wrong numbers almost every day and lots of sales calls. We have mobiles so no real need for a landline.

Guess i'll just have to see what the price is without it and go ahead with cancelling if i'm not happy....
