Just signed up for apparently a new deal with virgin. 8 meg line plus unlimited calls (evening and weekend) - £10 per month plus BT line rental. Anyone else on this?

There maybe however this is a Virgin Media (cable thread) so might not get as many look in's from Virgin.net (ADSL) customers - there are people looking in and replying, but not as many as cable customers.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

    Hi all,
I was paying £14/moth for 10mb broadband but now Virgin Media started chariging me £22.
I've been with VM for a while and didn't have any major problems but I'm strapped for cash and would like to find a cheaper deal (broadband or broadband&phone) .
I phoned Vergin Media and all they can offer me is a free wireless router so I gave them 1 month notice.
Is anyone paying less then £22 for a VM 10mb broadband?
Thinking of giving Tiscali a call and go for a broadband&phone deal which costs £14.99 including phoneline rental, broadband speed is 8mg.
    Any adivice is welcome.
    thanks.

    I have:
    VM 10mb bb.
    BT phone line.
    Orange payasyougo mobile

there was a direct number to them but i think it was last year when it went dead.i ring 150 and choose thinking of moving/not wanting to keep services

Thanks, that's what I did in the end and this is what I got:

    XL TV
    M Broadband
    M Phone
    V+

£33.75 a month with NO V+ installation or box charges.

    Very pleased indeed!
  • I've been with Virgin/NTL for years. Currently on no frills 3 for 30 quid only getting cheap calls at weekend. Now feeling overcharged. Do you think they will give me a better deal, not bothered about more rubbish channels but one of those V+ boxes would be nice.
  • Hi All.

Personally I think I am being screwed by Virgin Media.

As it stands I have Virgin Broadband and TV, I have the normal samsung box in my bedroom and a v+ box in the living room and we only have 2mb broadband and Medium package TV i think, it might be L anyway its as follows:

    Add Set Box(es) Discount -£10.00
    1 Additional V Box £15.00
    Broadband Size:M £18.00
    TVSize: L £11.50
    V+ Box - £15.00
BB & TV Bundle Saving £-7.50
    Payment Handeling Charge - £5.00
    E Bill Discount £-1.00

    Therefore total cost £42

    So im paying basically £42

I have had this contract for just over a year now, am I getting screwed.

Can I ring this number listed above and ask for a better package???

    Any advice please.
    YES I AM A SPENDAHOLIC!!!!

My programme Episode 6 of Series 3 on BBC£ spendaholics
    However started with £17,000
    July 07 - Balance remaining £13,500
    OCTOBER 2008 - £8,000 to go
  • hi guys, i am use to haggling with virgin but not with tv package chucked in, was wondering what you thought of this offer i got them down to, i havent confirmed yet

V+ x2 XL (one for bedroom) = £60 installation (30 for eack room)
2mg bb w/e calls (this is what i have now)

    monthly total = 32.75

banged away on calculator, and getting the v+ in bedroom worked out better than standard box (awfull signals where i now live). they were offering standard 2nd box free install but 5pm extra = 60 per year
    v+ bedroom installed = 30 one off
so installation has paid for self over 6 mth of standard box.
    the 2 boxs are free.

it didnt sound to bad, tried to get her to waiver instalation but wasnt haveing any of it.

    what do you guys think?

ive been reading your posts as for the last 2 days our vigintv hasnt been working, last week it was the broadband and i'm fed up that they keep increasing our service charge but the service is still rubbish!!!

anyway i cant believe they give people two differnt service charges to pay £18 for bb or £9 (4.50 first 12months) so i phoned up today and the guy said we could have that deal but doesnt include tv.

we pay £27 a month for M phone, L tv and M bb, we used to pay £20, then £23.34 in june, then £25 july, now £27!!! for the exact same service

i worked it out if i payed individually for tv bb and phone it would cost less but he said as i have tv included its more (which is stupid as their M tv is free). its stupid as they over inflate the prices then apply 'loyalty discount' which brings your bill to the same price as if you bought everything indiviually!!!! awhile back we did complain about our bill and told them to cancel the tv but they never turned up to pick it up then said u can have it for free. today we had a virgin engineer fix our virgintv and replace the box (2days without service), we only use a few of those channels but would like to keep the tv service.

so does anyone have any advice to get the tv included with the new £15.50 BB and phone offer? i did mention about sky giving free wireless which he said could do, but wouldnt budge on tv...i said i'd think about it

You can save £5 per month straight away by paying by direct debit.

It's worth calling up as you might be better off with the XL TV package and get some better discounts.
