Virgin Media Retention thread

Thanks for all the info from Forum...Wig, Emma et al.

Just spoke to retentions chap at Virgin and got my BB and phone calls package reduced from £19.99 to £9.99/ month ! am delighted at how easy it was....no quibbles whatsoever. (The hardest part is getting thro' to a human !)

Hi! Like a few people on this thread, my BB has jumped to £18 a month instead of £10. I sent Virgin an email, saying I wanted to revert to £10 and have the difference from last month refunded or I'd leave. I received a "courtesy call" this morning, and the person said "tough", basically! :mad:

I am going to call the rentention number, but as I am calling from my mobile, is there a cheaper number? I spent £4 credit the other day trying to get through to someone....

Am I right in thinking I could get back to £10? And if I wanted the phone line as well, I could get it at the current offer of £15.50? I'd like to know how the lucky person above got both for £9!!!

I am currently on:
Line Rental £11.00, TV XL £22.00, additional V+ box £15.00, Broadband M 2MB £18.00 Totals £66.00 and I currently had a £9.50 discount from the last time I complained making it £56.50 a month.

I am getting hammered by the phone charges and phoned Virgin on 150 and said I was thinking of leaving. I was also on the sky website at the same time and said that I could get the phone and for £5 and broadband 8MB for a £5 and similar Tv for £22 plus the cost of Bt line for £11.00. The lady said she would transfer me to someone else. I explained to him the same as before and he said let me see what we can do for you.

I ended up keeping what I currently have and added Talk Anywhere 200 (which includes calls to mobiles) £9.00 a month and the total I am now paying, including this, is £45.00 a month.
They did say it was for 12 months only.

sorry about the late reply,been away. just drafting my letter to virgin to complain and see if i can get any refund on the overpayment of bb fees. will get in touch with ofcom if i;m not happy with the result. spoke to a friend today who was paying £30+ for XL bb, i showed him that it was £20 standard price now. seems a lot of people are paying over the odds, we need to do something about this.

Or call 0845 454 1111 from any other phone line.
try the numbers on saynoto0870 if u don't have virgin phone

With VM paying £18 per month for BB only. Rang to cancel as wanted to migrate to 02 BB via ADSL..was offered BB for 7 months at £6 per month by VM..!

standard price for BB M should only be £9, ask for it cheaper.

word of wording, on both occassions I got an offer from Virgin they were never applied to my account, make sure you get the name of the person you spoke to and where they work.
