I have given 30 dayes notice and only 5 days left. I was called and I asked for TIVO, and the CS agreed to 50% of activation fees.
So it is possible. I will see if they offer me somting good, comparable to others in this forum, otherwise I will leave.
Also, how can I get and keep proof of what they offer ? This is very important to me and if they lie again, I will leave.0 -
the don't do anything off the activation fees - they do it a different way - they do it as a credit to the account for a different problem - they are not allowed to specifically state its a reduction of the TiVO activation.
You can ask them to email you the offer, they also post out your new contract, the date of install is the date of contract commencement, if unsure agree an install date a week away, this will give time for the contract to turn up to be reviewed.0 -
Thanks Visidigi. You have been very helpful and I have been reading all your postings.
Whether I leave or not I will defenitely send email to Virgin Media about my experience from day 1 till the day I leave. Hopefully the feedback would help them improve.0 -
i'm happy, just got my virgin bill reduced from £38 a month to £27 a month, same package as before, L broadband, XL phone, and now have additional free calls to 0845 which werent previosly included :j:j:jloves to knit and crochet for others0

Glad to hear you got a good deal - the 0845 number thing is coming to all customers packages for free next month...0

I called Virgin about a week ago to ask about the 08xx number charges and was told it's only 0870 (I explicitly asked about 0845 and was told it's not included).
And 0870 is only free during your free landline calls period (evenings, weekends or 24/7).
Of course, I may have been misinformed so worth double checking.0 -
does anyone know the retention number for virgin media...
p.s. dont have their line0 -
Well currently paying the standard £33.90 for the basic everything.
Moving and had a couple days before cancellation, thought i'd try ringing to see what they offered, got
HD activation
Basic TV
Basic BB
Evening and Weekends
For £27 (pricematch O2 broadband and phone) or £30 with 30mb broadband. Not the best offer on here and perhaps they was a bit of leway if they rang back but a deal had to be made on the phone as it gets cancelled tomorrow.
Pleased anyhow0 -
I'm moving, but to a house that is nearby and also has Virgin Media Cable, so hopefully easy. But, of course the price has jumped recently.
I'm paying £37.90 for:
TV M (45 Channels)
Phone XL ( Unlimited calls to UK landlines all day, every day)
Broadband L (10 mb)
Virgin phone line
Phone extras
Voicemail Plus
TV extras
V HD Box - HD ready
Phone Line Rental - £13.90
Bundles - £24
Total: £37.90
When chappie called up to confirm the move (and charge £10 for the move??) I said i'm not happy with the deal. He offered a £5 reduction for 6 months, then revert to normal.
I'm going to start looking now at what I could get elsewhere. I would want to get this for £25 (fair?) not on a temporary deal. I'm not too concerned about improving my package, don't even know what Tivo is, but if they chucked that in and Sky Sports I would help.
So, what would be fair? Is £25 too high? Or too low?0
