OK, thanks for the advice! Guess I'd better call them up and cancel my cancellation then0
-
Does cancelling a cancellation put you into another 12 month contract by default or can you stay in your prior out of contract state??0

Virgin media suck bigtime thats a matter of fact,
my current bill per month is £32-33. disgusting considering what we actually have. 10mb broadband, but my connection speeds via, currently as i type this i'm being throttled to 2mb, Telephone with an extra £9 for the freecalls during the week and weekend basically 60min and redial. which doesnt include phonecalls to mobiles, just landlines. NO TV at all.
They did phone me up a couple of months ago and offer me the tv but i said we already had freeview built into our tv's and as we wouldnt pay extra for the movie channels. I believe they did change my broadband though from M to L which didnt mean anything expect i was put on the high end of the 10mb, instead of the low end, looks like it. judging by my current speeds downloading from their newserver. 1.6Mbps / 210KBps and of course than little update was a NEW CONTRACT. even though i'd been with them 4years i would of said it was a minor change.0 -

I am on the same service as you and I put in my cancellation last week, they called me on Monday and offered me the service for £21.40 for 10mb, evening and weekend calls and line rental.
I told them it wasn't cheap enough and I was looking to go to Talktalk, they then called me on Tuesday and after some backing and forward on deals they offered me the same package for £17 which I accepted so give them a call and see what they can do.
With regards to your broadband speeds how are you testing them? I tend to use http://www.speedtest.net/ which gives me accurate figures.0 -

You're downloading from a news server, during the day, in the periods where they will restrcit your speed to avoid network saturation issues and you are complaining?
You're £32.33 would include £12.50 line rental, so that takes you to £20, minus £9 for your calls leaves £11 for your 10mb internet connection.
Try and get that speed elsewhere for less - I think you just need to learn when to you use your connection to maximise your usability of the speed.
Downloading on VM after 12 midnight would do your opnion of the service a great deal of good...0 -

TiVo Box

I do need to move house which I probably will to take up on the above offer. In my opinion its a lot better than any current VM offers for new customer.Nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. - Alex Supertramp0 -
it is a good deal - you will be pinged for the £50 to activate the Tivo though....0

Thanks Visidigi, I did asked about any extra activation charge and the chap said no. I have his direct extension just in case.Nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. - Alex Supertramp0

hes telling porkies...no one yet we have heard from has got TiVO activation free...I would phone him again and make it clear about the box you are having and fees associated with it. Like the poster earlier, there is no activation for the VHD box, but the other two have £49.99 fees...0
