Hmm, we currently pay £27 a month for:

M BB
M TV
line rental + free w/e calls

but then we pay £24 per month to sky for 6 mixes, so we wanted to get everything with the one supplier....

just been offered:

XL TV
M BB
line rental + free even& w/e calls
+ keep our existing basic box and have XL tv on that box too
Tivo box

all for £42.90 per month + 49.99 tivo installation.

Outbound team keep ringing and either missing us or it cuts off whilst were' speaking, so i got this offer from inbound retentions team..

Not sure what to do now?

Well..disconnection was due tomorrow, so I tried one more call to option 5 (thinking of leaving) and finally got some success with a very helpful man. Have decreased TV package to M+ (hardly watched any of the channels on XL), plus skysports. Broadband now L (was M) and wireless, with router included. Additional TV outlet in another room free, and a TiVo box. (still have to pay activation fee of £49-99) but no additional monthly charge for TiVo .12 month contract for £61-40pm. Much happier with that, so going with it.

After getting nowhere with VM we complained to CEO 'neil.berkett@virginmedia.co.uk'

Complaints rang me back in 1 hour, added 25 credit to our account due to no internet.
Our disconnection will continue and we've gone to SKY. thank Fack I'm not with VM any longer. What a sorry excuse for a company!:(

word of advise, make *sure* you cancel to get a decent offer from VM otherwise you'll have a VM rep trying to give you a far inferior offer.

Anyway, thought I'd post up, for my new house which im due to move into soon...

XL TV (with Tivo + Addition VHD Box free activation for both)
M PHONE
M BROADBAND
+£50 CREDIT

... £35 a month on a 12 month contract.

Edit: it was VHD not V+HD just confirmed.

I think i could've squeezed them more but didn't have the energy.

care to explain what tactic was used for free activation? You're the first i've heard of getting one free activations, let alone two...I'd be cautious of those contract lengths too, phone is a standard 18mo no matter what they may say on the phone (found this out the hard way...)

Spoke with retentions and have been offered the following deal, is this any good or could I have pushed them for any more?

XL TV
L Broadband (10MB)
M Phone (Free evening calls)
Sky Sports + Movies Bundle
V+Box in one room
Tivo Box in another room (+£49.95 activation fee)

£73.00/month

Id be interested to know that too. I spoke to 3 different people, all of whom said there was no way anyone could get out of paying that activation fee. Really pleased for anyone who has though! I could have probably got a slightly better deal if I had waited till the very last minute, but with 24 hours to go, I had given up waiting for them to ring me, so rang them! It was a lot of hassle over the past month if I'm honest, but my monthly cost has gone down around £11, which was the main thing I was aiming for. Yes, I've lost some channels, but I didnt watch them anyway, and I have some services now that suit my needs much better, so cant complain! Thanks to everyone who helped with advice, especially Visidigi, much appreciated x

My Virgin Media 12 mth contract has now expired, so I now have a rolling 30 day get out.

The Virgin XXL broadband is a must for me as I work online so much. I rarely use the home phone, currently with free weekend calls.

Current deal:

Line rental £12.00
Phone and BBand discount - £17.00
XXL Broadband £45.00
Paper Bill £1.50

Total £41.50

I know I should cancel the paper bill, but am I likely to get a better deal for this package if I threaten to cancel?

Thanks in advance....

You might be able to get the half price line rental on the phone line, saves about £6.90 (its going up shortly so your £12 becomes £13.90 soon.

Are you a longtime user of XXL? Do you have the superhub? You might see a couple of quid off the total too - your current bundle is listed at £38.90 for new customers - sooo £38.90 minus £6.90 = £32 obviously though it would be £33.50 ideal price if you keep paper billing (the online billing is much improved, PDF files make printing them easier too)

Hi all, I got offered the following any opinions on whether it's a good deal?

Tv xl
Phone m
Bb l
TiVo box
Existing v+ hd box in another room
For £43 a month (plus 49.95 activation for TiVo)

Apparently there isn't a better deal for me however sky is still cheaper with the quidco cashback.
I'm now confused!!
