VM retentions have rung me everyday - unfortunately on my home number when I'm at work.... even though I changed my contact details to be my mobile number and my OH at home answered each call and asked them to contact me on my mobile..... Geez, it's not that difficult VM?!

Will they only ring the home number? I don't even have a phone plugged in to my landline, so this could be a problem...

I work from home & the 10mps is so slow 6pm + for confirming holidays (I'm a Travel Agent) that I figure Plusnet at 20mps is better & cheaper.

Have you checked what you can actually get on an ADSL line with +net? I know when Virgin spoke to me they were able to check the exchange proximity like I had done prior to speaking to them...clear little people that they were knew that i could only get circa 5mb from an ADSL served line...

    Hope someone can help
I am with Virgin Media and out of contract
I have checked inside my virgin media and i am paying £34.49 for

    TV M+
    PHONE M
    BROADBAND L
it also states i am paying for V HD BOX but i have still got the old standard
    V Box
Now i intend to phone up and ask why i am paying for the V HD BOX when i haven't got one, but is it worthwhile asking for a mac code to leave to try and get a better deal?
    Any Thoughts?
  • Hi,
Thursday I gave notice to cancel from my package:
    TV - M
    Phone - M
    Broadband - M
    for £29.58
Still no call from retentions :( - they offered no discount or extras when I phoned them.
So, similar to rosegirl36. Should I hope for a better deal?
    Cheers.

Had a call from retentions yesterday and my wife answered - she told them to call back at 7:45pm, they said they woukd, and they didn't. I'm not in all day as we both work, so why don't they call my mobile? I left my number with them...

    i currently have.
    m broadband(10meg).
phoneline with 24/7 free calls to landlines.
    xl tv.
    sky sports.
    sky movies.
thats just with the standard box...no v+ etc.

my bill comes in at around £76.....£1.50 of this is for a paper bill which i will be getting rid of.

there is a £24.50 loyalty discount on there from the last time i rang up(5 years ago!!!!!!) so is it worth me ringing again?? do you think i could be getting better??

edited to say i want everything i have so im not interested in losing anything.......just wondered if i could get cheaper, maybe v+ or something?? i cant have a second box anywhere else in the house though as i dont have a tv anywhere else apart from living room.

Ditto. I left my number with them... My OH has repeatedly asked them to ring my mobile everytime they ring the home number. Still haven't heard from them.....

So Vermin Media just rang home again and my OH answered it. The rep asked why we were leaving, to which my OH replied Sky had offered us their equivilent package with the addition of TV at the same price. The rep just replied "Ok, I'll go ahead and confirm your disconnection for July 15th".

    Unbelievable! Is that is?!?

My daughter took out a package with Virgin about 6 months ago when she moved into her rented house. This contract was for 1 year and was for Phone/Broadband and TV. One month ago she was given notice on her rented house as the owner has now decided he wants to sell. She has found a flat to rent and phoned Virgin to ask them to transfer her contract to the new address. Virgin will transfer her phone/broadband but cannot trasnsfer the TV as there is no 'cable' at the new address. All they would tell her was that she has to continue paying for the full package as per her 'contract' but she will only receive phone/broadband. If she want to cancel she will have to pay a cancellation fee of £180 plus £34 for 'something else' (she can't remember what this was). This means if she wants a choice of TV channels she will have to take out a Sky contract on top of the Virgin one she's paying. Surely it is not her fault there is no cable at new address and Virgin should consider this. Any advice please.
