How long do I wait for retentions to call & do they call in the evening? I cancelled last Thursday.

    Can anybody help me?

Currently I'm on the following package:

XL TV (with V+ HD box)
Sky Sports Package (no movies, just sports)
    L Phone (evenings & weekends)
    L Broadband (10mb)
    Line rental

I'm paying £72 per month, and that includes a £22.50 loyalty discount from the last time I phoned Virgin and said I was leaving. I feel that I'm paying too much, I'm struggling to meet the monthly costs at the moment. I know I could reduce it by £22.50 by removing Sky Sports 1 and 2, but I don't feel I should have to do that.

I'm not against switching providers, but is there anyone that offers the same package size for cheaper? I've had a look but I can't find any provider offering a better deal.

    Thank you in advance.

    Woot.

Just called and the customer service advisor straight away offered me £63 per month down from £72. I've said thanks but no thanks and arranged a cancellation - just waiting to see if the retentions team will call me back now.

Thanks Christie, i cancelled it and the installation team never turned up - end of, if retentions phone me they will have to put it in writing.

On looking back they are VERY hesitant to do this, on requesting it in writing the response from webform was "We need to speak to you call our 0845 number ...." since i was stung last time for over £6 from phoning this number i did not phone them.
    Owed out = lots.

I have been with VM since it was Telewest over 15 years.

    Package £35.99/month for
    Medium TV (not M+)
    L BroadBand
    XL Phone.

On Monday I rang to give them 30 days notice of my wish to leave because they wouldnt offer what I wanted. Yesterday signed up with sky, then this morning VM rang offering me

    XL TV
    L BB
    XL phone
    V+HD box for free
    £37.99/Month
(more than what I was asking them for).

Rang sky to cancel my contract and they offered me better.

When VM Rang again they confirmed that my price is £37.99/month, for 12 month contract. So Im happy  just waiting for sky to ring and have to tell them im not switching to them.

Just felt sooo bad when the sky guy just rang and i had to tell him I had decided to stay with VM,

Take a look on SayNoto0870 and see if there's a standard number to call them on (or if you're on Virgin mobile or Virgin Landline 150 is apparently free).

Tell them you're not having the installers inside your house until they've sent you a copy of the contract. I did this, and magically the contract letter turned up two days later via Royal Mail. I then called them and confirmed a new installation date...job done!

Just rang to cancel our contract with Virgin, we have XL TV and L broadband for £45 a month, we weren't offered anything so continued with cancellation.

Waiting for retentions to ring, wouldn't mind either my current package cheaper or a broadband upgrade.
