I cancelled last Thursday and got a phone call on Wednesday around the same time of day.
If you dial 1471, it's from tel no 08000 522 1600 -
Just rang to cancel our contract with Virgin, we have XL TV and L broadband for £45 a month, we weren't offered anything so continued with cancellation.
Waiting for retentions to ring, wouldn't mind either my current package cheaper or a broadband upgrade.
This is proving to be a hassle! Today they have cancelled our service, we have no TV channels, and we only rang up yesterday - thought it was 30 days notice! Going to ring up and cancel this cancellation because this is just annoying.0 -

Not very moneysaving of you! I hope you had not paid for the tele in advance.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -
Ok, I called last Thursday to cancel. I currently have:
£47/month 10mb broadband, xl tv & phone evenings & week ends
On Tuesday afternoon they called and left a message with my husband for:
£36/month 10mb broadband, xl tv & phone evenings & week ends
On Tuesday evening, I called and left a message. On Wednesday they called but no one was in. On Friday morning I called and left a message asking to be called back before 2pm. 2 hours later they called with:
£34/month 10mb broadband, xl tv & phone evenings & week ends
I quoted the Sky package and I asked if they was anything they could do with the broadband speed and he replied immediately:
£35/month 20mb broadband, xl tv & phone evenings & week ends
So I have signed up for this deal for 12 months & I have 5 days from now to cancel if I change my mind0 -
Partner rang to find out why it's been cancelled straight away, which they said was a mistake so they are re-connecting us. This time we were offered something, the next broadband up, XL TV and phone for £38 a month, but not including line rental.. Currently paying £45 for XL TV and L Broadband, we don't need a landline at all so we declined the offer and continued with cancellation.0

Hello all,
Have been with VM for 1 1/2 yrs. Have 10mbps bb, phone with free weekend calls, XL TV & 1 (80hr) hd+ box & 2 (old boxes-no v+) upstairs.
Costs £65 PCM (inc £2-£3 calls). Hardly ever use l/line-G/F rings France twice a week (we use an override number) & also first telecom cablesaver. Seriously considering VOIP as calls free to France. 'L' tv is fine as we don't really use XL.
I work from home & the 10mps is so slow 6pm + for confirming holidays (I'm a Travel Agent) that I figure Plusnet at 20mps is better & cheaper.
Called up to disconnect-NO offer given (just said to downgrade by losing packages on tv & taking away other boxes!)....how long will it be before I get a call & am I likely to get any sort of deal??
If the do disconnect can get an aerial upgrade & have 2 freeview hd boxes anyway.
Any ideas people? Bugs me that new customers get 30mps & £100 cashback!
Also...the initial deal i got was from one of their outbound sales guys (he was posting on digital spy forum)...I've still got his number....worth calling him directly??0 -
quick question have been with vm for over 4 years want to ring up and try getting a better package but am worried about being tied up for 12 or 18 months as looking to move house soon.any ideas can you transfer over to a new house.thanks0

I'm currently paying £28.99 a month for:
TV - M (not M+)
Phone - M
Broadband - L
I don't think this is too bad, especially since I live in a block of flats and can't get Sky, but I would like more channels. If I can't get more channels, I might as well switch to Freeview (which I think is the same channels as the M package; or at least includes all the ones I use).
If I phone and tell them I'm planning to switch to Plusnet for phone and broadband (for around £16 a month), and Freeview for TV, do you think they'd be likely to offer me a higher TV package. I don't use my landline at all (don't even have a phone), and a basic broadband package is fine for me. I don't want to pay any more than I'm currently paying. I wouldn't mind getting a V+ box too, but could live without it.0
