Now 3 weeks since cancellation and no callback for me yet. Will have to cancel my cancellation if they don't call soonish. I even called on day 2 to make sure they had my mobile number down, but no missed calls to that number
God that is worrying - we have cancelled 2 weeks ago and OH rang up to check they had put it through and asked them to put it in writing - not that we have had any contact.0 -
Going to call them today to cancel the cancellation0

My husband rang yesterday to see if we could get our £110 bill down. They offered us the same for £90.54 for 12 months.
Said No, so cancelled and going to wait on call from retentions (if they call!) to see what they can offer us.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I Canceled my 50mbit BB and lowest phone package on Friday 4th (standard £38 + calls and going up in April), Got a call last night offering 1 month free and then £28/m (Minimum 12 months tie in on the phone line)
Not spectacular like some of the others but I would not compromise on the 50mbit, Happy enough with what i got.0 -
I rang Virgin yesterday to get some info on cancelling. they just dont seem to care at all and for the package I wanted including Sports they were actually dearer that BT.
No offers to stay.
Now I find that because 'they' mucked up transfering the phone over, although everything else was done quick enough, my contract is until 2nd June and it will cost a £100 cancellation fee plus one month to leave.
OH wants to pay it anyway so he can have the sports channels in on offer and I want a BT line in so we can choose who to have the broadband with at the end of the contract with them. Not only that they are quite reasonable for the phone rental if you pay the year up front .
Personally Id never have Virgin in again.

Further to cancelling my services I received a call from VM on day 3, unfortunately I missed this call - it was the 0207 number which you cannot ring back. Hopefully they will ring again when I am at home.0

Just as a warning, when you receive a call back make sure they don't put you on an 18-month contract and make sure your discounts are for the full length of your contract.
I had a call-back recently and was given a very enticing offer, but after accepting I discovered all of the above were true. I would never have even noticed had it not been that they were also going to be charging me £3pm more than they were meant to be.0 -

Yep they tried that with me. 18 months for phone and 12 months for broadband. At 12 months price would jump up by £6pm. They didn't tell me either but I asked and only then was I told.
Very sneaky.
I told them I wasn't interested.0 -

I naively thought this would redeuce my bill to 2 for £20 instead I wasw told either the offer stood for 12 months or, if the digibox was removed my price would be £29 a saving of a pound! The 2 meg broadband has been great for my needs so I decided after my 12 month contract was up to have the TV and Telephone service out and just pay £18 for my Virgin broadband. Imagine my surprise when I rang Virgin to request the removal of the two services I was offered Broadband AND phone for a permanent price of £16.50 (twelve month contract) and if I wanted to keep the digibox (I dont) £22 for all three. So now I have broadband and phone for £3.50 less than I was paying for broadband alone.
Similar thing happened to me. Only found out about it after they kept ringing me to try and tell me about it and I kept putting them off.0 -
25 days in to my notice period I phoned them to cancel my cancellation; I did push for a better deal before I committed though, pretending Sky were coming to install stuff on Saturday etc, sent him off to talk to his manager for the last bit of discount, and so on. It's not awesome but it's better than we were on:
went from
£49.74 for 20mb XL BB, L TV, M phone
to
£44.74 for 10mb L BB, XL TV, V+ HD box with free install and activation, M phone
it was the free install and activation that I had to push hard on, with him insisting he couldn't take the "normal" £90 fees down below £29 and my refusing to accept it.
So, not a stellar deal, not made with the outbound calls retention team who as it turned out, just never called me, but I got a small improvement from where I was and that'll have to do. And further negotiation on the phone did get me some progress.0
