I put in my cancellation last week as i was paying £54 for

    Tv Xl
    Phone M+
    10Mb broadband

Decided to go with Sky for my tv package but wanted to really stay with Virgin for Broadband and phone the best CS could offer on that was £24.

Had a call from retentions this morning and got 10mb broadband and unlimited calls with 0845 numbers etc included for £15 a month on a 12 month contract.

I accepted as i thought that was a really good deal :)

Great deal - I tried to get that exact deal which people on this thread and elsewhere had talked about but they claimed it didn't exist - which is strange given you and others got it!

Oh well, too late now, time to move on as now in contract again.

We have been with VM for several years, we get TV, 2 * phone lines and broadband. My last bill was over £150 - for 1 month.

Basic service charge breaks down like this

    Telephone Line rental 12.24
    Additional line(s) 12.24
    Talk Unlimited 8.00
    Phone, TV, Broadband discount -9.50
    TV size XL 25.00
    Broadband size M 20.75
    Paper Bill charge 1.25
    total 69.98

I want to get on a cheaper deal even if I have to move to another supplier without the TV. we need to keep both phone numbers. What should I do ?

After 6 happy years with virgin I have given notice and all services are scheduled to be canceled the 7th of April... I suppose retentions will call in some point...

I really want to lower this, so is our best bet to cancel and then see if we're offered anything from retentions?
What if we don't get a call from retentions or decide not to cancel?
We do need the BB as it's the only decent one which allows the girls to be online surfing and the boys on xbox live all at the same time with no lagging.
We will have been with them for 12 months on the 13th of this month so just trying to figure out now what is the best to do.

Coming to end of current 10 Meg Broadband only - 12.00 a month six month existing customer deal, just phoned V.M who informed me that being as during the last 3 months my usage has been 15.8 gig/17 gig/19 gig they believe that my usage represents very good value for the full 10 Meg Broadband only rate. _pale_

Only offer they made was old 2 meg Broadband only @ 15.20 with 12 Month contract or 17.20 without a contract. :(

Told them to have 30 days notice to terminate my service during which time I will look elsewhere for a cheaper alternative.

Hmmmm, gave notice 3 weeks ago now, no retentions call yet. I even called after a couple of days to make sure they had my mobile contact number. Ponder.

    Just been offered:

M+ TV, 10MB broadband and phone line rental + a new home hub for £12.24 a month including VAT.

I was paying £38.49 for XL TV with v+ box, 10MB broadband and phone line.

I've been with Virgin Media for 11 years, was originally Yorkshire Cable then Telewest.

Received a call from the outbound retentions team after giving my disconnection notice a few days ago.

I have just negotiated a deal with Virgin. It sounded good to me.

    We are now getting:-

    XL TV
    XL phone
    L Broadband
    V+ Box

    Total amount: £43.74

Does anyone know whether I will get 0845 numbers free or so many minutes a month free?

    Thanks.

I've been a VM customer since the free dial-up days with ntl. I only have the phone line and size M 10Mbs broadband through a very old cable modem; no TV services. I currently pay £24.99 a month. When I saw that from April I was going to have to pay £26.49 a month for this rather basic service, I rang them up and said I was going to leave them and quoted the rates of other providers. They weren't interested in the slightest in offering any deals other than putting me onto a 'basic' 2Mbs broadband service at a saving of £2 a month. This 'great deal' would also lock me into a 12 month contract. I shall not be staying with them for much longer!
