    Hello fellow Virgins,

I have been with Virgin for years now as they offer a fast broadband connection, which we need, I am not sure if it is even worth trying to negotiate a retention deal.

I hate the thought of Sky but I suppose we could move to a sky tv package and maybe a bt phoneline again - but would 3 different providers mean we end up paying morte that we do at present?

Today we have a virgin phone line, with Talk Unlimited and Talk Mobile, we have BB XL and TV XL - I have been offered an upgrade to new router to upgrade our BB to up to 30mb, for a one off £30 payment. Our basic package costs £65 (plus calls outside package).

BT are offering a £53 monthly package bb unlimited, call plan unlimited and TV gold - but does the broadband speed measure up? Confused...

managed to speak to retentions and now they have offered

Xl tv with all skysports channels in hd
xl phone line with unlimited landline calls +250 mins o845-0870 etc nums
    large broadband
    1 v+ box
    1 Router
all this for £65 a month

how does this deal sound is this a ny better?

i will ring Bt and sky to see what they can offer me
thanks for your help Late comer

Today I was offered the following retentions deal at just under £80:

Xl tv with all skysports channels NOT in hd
xl phone line with unlimited landline calls +250 mins o845-0870 etc nums
    large broadband
    1 v+ box
    Extra v+ box
    No router

So given I pay around a fiver per month for the extra box, I would say you have been quoted a good deal....

This was my first call to them given contract expiring next month (have been with VM / Telewest 10 years)

Time for some serious tactical play...!

So glad I called rententions - have been offered a new 12m contract deal (which is fine as we didn't really want to leave) - £57.94/month for TV and BB XL, then Phone M and a Talk Anywhere package of 200 mins/month for any number (mobile, 0870/45 and International nos.) and a new V+ HD activated box (we currently have an old non HD one) for £29.95 one off charge. Doesn't sound much but our phone charges were through the roof so this will save a good £20-30/month. Very useful thread, just shows if you don't ask...
  • Can you negotiate with them if you still in a contract with a long-time to run? My contract is 12months, and I'm 3 months in. Will they offer me a better deal?

No because you are in a contract so there is nothign for them to lose. You may be able to remove or downgrade some of your services.
  • Thats what I suspected. Thanks. Will just have to wait.:(

Any members wanting to get better deals may want to look at some of my other posts.I do hope they can help you getting a cracking deal.
If you want to join VirginMedia for the first time look out for cashback deals on Topcashback as this could reduce your overall contract price.
You maybe amazed on what you may earn there.
Oh clear your cookies if you go for cashback.

Some posts are getting a little heated.Let's be nice to each other!
