Cannot use override numbers, but was told that within the next couple of months 0845 & 0870 numbers are to be included in all of their packages!
They always used to say that about their interactive services - I gave up after a few years and went to Sky!BT can only do a similar package for £22.35 a month.
What other LLU operators are available to you?0 -
My friend has Sky HD for TV (he got the half price Best Buy offer I recommended) but has Virgin Media for phone, broadband and TV (as it was the same price without it).
He's on TV M, BB M and standard phone line and pays around £25 a month. There's not much price difference if he moves back to a BT based line with broadband (not counting cashback sites) but I wondered whether he could get more from Virgin Media for the same money - perhaps faster broadband or inclusive calls? I appreciate he's not on a high package but he's got the full monty for TV with Sky so there is no need at the moment. I'm not sure how much he spends on calls.0 -
Hi I have been with VM for over 2 years. I currently have 2 basic boxes with M tv, landline with free weekend calls and L internet…… I think I pay £35 a month. Does anyone think I have any chance of getting a better deal if I threaten to leave? And if so, any tactical advice? I don’t want to actually cancel, just hoping for a better deal! Thanks J0

Not sure, I think I can get Plusnet & Primus, but there seems some horror stories about them, (yes there are some about Virgin), and the cost is not much cheaper.
I have been with Virgin for about 5 years and have not really had any bad issues with them, hence the "better the devil you know".
I end up saving £5. a month, which is better than the £5. a month they said it would go up to after the £10. pm deal for the last 12 months , (and get away from robbing BT), although if they are telling porkies about the 0845/0870 numbers I may have to think again, am still waiting for the email confirmation, to which I will reply asking for further details about costs.

Phone them and ask for your MAC, they will put you through to some one who should offer you a better deal.
By requesting your MAC, you are not actually leaving even if they end up giving it you, it is up to you if you use it by giving it to your new provider.

We have telephone. broadband and the xl tv package. Also tv hd record box downstairs and non record hd in one of the bedrooms but with xl package.
They agreed to waive the installation fee for 2nd box and only paid £49 for that box.
We were paying £47 a month but they reduced this amount to £44.
I was very happy with this deal.0 -

Ah ok, thanks. I'll try that tonight
The MAC code is what I need if I wanbt to change internet suppliers, right? Does it still apply to Virgin as I get my internet through cable, rather than the phone line?0 -

It does not apply to cable, only Virgin do cable, so to swop you will need a new supplier.
I am with Virgin but via phone line, (ADSL), so a MAC, (not MAC code, the C in MAC stands for code, no need to repeat it), is what I would require.
You can still ring them and say you are considering leaving, a few examples would be handy. to have around.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
