You are talking rubbish that doesn't make sense -m hope your rubbish helps someone - that is a bit of a r ee tard? Doesn't make any sense to a sane person!!

I'm sane and it made sense to me...? There is not need for name calling, this is a discussion forum to help people.

It is helpful to share details of retention deals where possible to help others know what is currently possible, but if it is so specific to identify your account then you may want to hold back for fear that they change their mind ;)

  • Got a call back today from virgin media, the guy said his computer crashed so he would phone me back in 10 mins or so. Gave him both my mobile and home number and made sure he wrote it down on some paper. Missed his first call but he phoned back a few mins later which was unexpected (I was surprised with one call back, two is impressive lol)

got offered a deal of £18 a month
    ul landlines +250 0870 and 0845 numbers
    10mb broadband
got him to arrange for me to keep a v box for their "freeview" package
also asked for the guy to throw in a new wireless router which he did

Only problem is its a 12 month contract for everything apart from the line rental which is 18 months, he advised me to renegotiate after the 12 months. Thats a problem for another year I guess :)
Now lets see if the bill mirrors the price he told me (which I doubt)

Only annoyance is that I have to give up our v+ box which we paid £100 towards a few years ago, can anyone recommend a good multimedia recorder with wifi?

Does anyone know if the new format contract that they send out truly reflects what you are going to be billed (in the past it mentioned that discounted prices are not reflected and will show up on your first bill, whihc is conveniently outside the cancellation period)? My contract has arrived more than 10 days after I spoke to them and the price (before or after the promotional price, as both are stated) bear no relation to what I discussed (£4 more on the contract per month!).

    Many thanks

I been told that 'goodwill gestures' don't show up on the contract but will be discounted on the bill.

I have the same discrepancy but the ebill shows the correct discounts and they stated the £5 difference is recorded on the account notes. The contracts appear to be a bit 'loose' when it comes to accurately stating all the finer points.....
  • So after the third phone call from retentions when the first two times I told them I was stilll going they have now dropped my price to £61.90.

This includes all of the above.
    Talk Unlimited
    Large Broadband
    XL TV
    2 x V+ boxes
    Sky Sports full package
    Call Reject
    and Free 0800 numbers. !!!!

They have emailed me the deal, I have gladly accepted.

This is £50 discount per month from their standard prices.

    I am VERY happy. :A

They phoned me today !! they said they offer we gave you was wrong and i shouldn't have been offered it as they though I has one v+ box, I told them I had it in writing from them and they panicked.

Ok Mr Saunders we will honour it, I know you will I replied !!!

    Always get an email.
    nothing.

So what are your options with BT and ADSL? It might be just as good.
