I rang up yesterday to cancel mine and the bloke said i hope your not doing this to get a better deal £46 for what we have offered you is the best you can get. XL TV, XL phone, L B/B plus V+HD box
I said well i want to cancel because i am going to sky and he said i will put it on your notes you have changed over and then you wont get any hassle from retentions :eek::eek::eek::eek:
no dont do that mate i dont mind that and he said they will hassle you for days but if you want to i wont put anything.
I hope that the guy I was on the phone to hasn't done that on mine.. I was on the phone for a total of 40 minutes getting passed from one to the other. The cancellation guy was doing everything he could to try and stop me from cancelling.
I had just been told and seen online that I could get TV XL, BB XL P- M, Hub and V+ box for £34 a month for 6 months but then went up to £55. I said this wasn't good enough being a 7 year loyal customer.
The cancellation guy then proceeded to tell me that the offer had now expired and that I would have to pay £35 for XL TV then £35 for XL BB & £20 for line rental and P M?!!!
I told him that I had the details in front of me and that the offer had not expired. He was lying to me and was so desperate for me not to leave it was like a personal affront to him. Just the type of muppet who when has the choice to tick retentions yes / no - would have clicked on no to get some pathetic victory.
I await their call .....0 -
Just had a call from Virgin and was offered the following:
V+HD Box
XL TV with Sky Sports, Movies HD and Asian Bundle
L Telephone
XXL Broadband (50MB)
for £89 per month
or
The above with XL Broadband (20MB) instead of XXL for £68
The XL Broadband deal seems very good, but I really want 50MB for a price between £75-£80 per month. Am I being unreasonable and too unrealistic?0 -

Hey guys, I got a call from the cancellation team today and they gave me a deal and I was unsure so they said they'd ring back on Monday. I asked them to send the deal in email but apparently they are not allowed to that that from the new year :S
Here's what they offered me:
XL TV + Asian bundle (£10) + 2x V+HD boxes
XL landline with free 0845 and 0870 calls
XL Broadband with free "super hub"
All for £60 a month for 12 months.
First of all, is this a good deal and secondly do you think I'd be able to get any "extra's" thrown in for the same price?
I don't know what happened to the 18 month contracts though, she only offered me a 12 month contract!
Thanks for the help in advance!

I just got a question about this offer. Virgin media are going to ring me tomorrow to see if I want this package. What will happen if I say I don't want the package as it costs too much? Will that be my only chance or will I get more calls from another department in Virgin media with better offers?0 -

I would be surprised if they do call you back as Virgin were suppose to call me back after 15 mins to see if I wanted the retention deal they offered me.
Having said that, if they do call you back and you reject their offer, my experience with other companies tells me that most likely they will let you leave.
Hope this helps.0 -
I gave notice to cancel on Saturday and my services are due to be cancelled on 7th February after being with them for over 12 years.0

My experience is they will keep calling until you say you don't want a call back or unless you accept the deal.0
-
My experience is I rejected their poor deal which was the same as I could get on their website and I haven't had a further call back.
Appears hit and miss.
