    Slightly off topic , but also ask for uk call centre support . I have just been on the phone for an hour regarding the activation for the new hub virgin media sent me. The technical engineer from abroad activated the line for me, but when I asked him about changing security key of net gear hub he said

    "well, maam , every key is unique so you will not need to change it".

    My response was "you what", They all recommend changing routers username and password and security. So he took me to the run command and was on netgear/virginmedia wireless setup page. He told me to give him the ip address and blah blah information I could see on screen , but asked if he could call back in half an hour regarding wireless set up.

    Arghhhh....I felt like screaming. I politely told him is it ok , he does not have to because I have figured it out my self. He ws like "HOW". I told him simple the page he took me on it was on the left hand corner. He then got grumpy and asked what im seeing which I said I will do it from here. He said "well maam you are seeing the options of the enncryption keys because I can see them as im connected to youre network or sumat like that.

    Lol I told him I knew that , because i could see from the network and sharing centre.

    Sorry needed to get that off my mind.

    I had a missed call yesterday from 01384 418 023 and from looking via Google it appears to be Virgin Media - can anyone confirm and advise if they know which department it is from or what it relates to?

    I had a missed call yesterday from 01384 418 023 and from looking via Google it appears to be Virgin Media - can anyone confirm and advise if they know which department it is from or what it relates to?

    ... no idea, their number showed as 0800 052 XXXX when they phoned me, try it and find out, go on, you know you want to ;) (if it is, it will do everyone a great service as many people miss the call and then cannot get through to this team!).

    I tried it yesterday but didn't get an answer but managed to get through today and it was just to confirm the install tomorrow and that I am still ok with it....sorry.

    I asked about trying to get a further call back from retentions to discuss adding sky sports to my deal for cheaper but he said he doesn't think they offer it any cheaper as they are standard, is this correct? I'm sure I read people have got sky sports via retentions for cheaper?

    Alternatively, does anyone know where I can watch sky sports online for free?

    The are places online to watch sky sports for free but its probably illegal and moneysavingexpert would probably not be happy me posting links..

    Plus the picture quality is pretty poor too.

    Hi can someone please take a look at this and say what you think, I did ring them on Tuesday to haggle a price on this, have been with them 15 years plus, have 2 contract phones with them too. They could offer me a discount of £3 on the package.......hmmmm...phoned back on Wednesday evening and told them to discon the lot as the price I was paying was far too much, they tried to down grade everything so I said no I would like to discon it all...was given a date and finished the phonecall.....today I had retentions ring me....saying the same things.....we can downgrade all your services but can offer you nothing more......the lady then said I shall make a note on your account so you dont get another call from us.....so the below package is costing me £54.25 for the next 30 days until it all gets cut off....still a pricey deal judging by what others are getting.....what should I do?

    Will someone ring me as she has put a note on the account saying not to contact again, I was very polite, said the deal I was getting was far too much a month and that I could get better deals elsewhere, she went on to say that in my area I would be very lucky to get anywhere near the net speeds they could offer....and I could have the same deal but cut my net to 10 meg....( its on 20 meg now ) all for 40 a month....said I wouldnt see any difference in speed etc....hmmmm I am not dumb......see no difference in going from 20 to 10 when playing online games and xbox 360, wii etc.....ok lol.

    most likely not if theres a note on the system, the same thing happen to me.

    What I did was call cancellation again and tell them I didnt want to cancel at the moment as sky can't book a engineer out for few weeks as I need the phone line and then ring back again few days later and give your cancellation notice again, this should avoid any notes that are on the system.

    Thanks, I shall try that in a week or so....not due to cut off till 10th Feb......fingers crossed I can secure a deal with them soon.
