    Hi everyone,

We have a Virgin media contract, TV+landline+broadband. We hardly use the landline, so I would like to cancel it.

Does anyone know if it´s possible to keep the broadband without a landline?

    Thanks!

Does anyone have a good deal or retention deal with 0845/0870 calls included ??

I think these are the Talk Anywhere phone tariffs.

(BT & Talk Talk now include 0845/0870 calls in their talk anytime deals.)

have just come of the phone with retentions and got the following deal:-

Trpile XL, 2 HD+ boxes plus the asian pack (£10 extra a month) including line rental for £65 per month. I was on XL BB and L phone for £40 per month.

No charge for the HD boxes or installation.

Is this a reasonable deal. Ive got 7 days cooling of period so if you think I can do better please let me know and Ill try again in a few days.

    Many thanks

See my last post on the previous page mate I got Triple XL pack plus sports and movies for 57 pounds on the Sky matcher deal. I also rang back for an extra V+ box free for 12mnths. Might be worth a try to get a better deal mate. Maybe they can't do a deal on the Asian pack but Sky Sports and movies as people are leaving for them in HD (Virgin won't get these for a while). Worth using as a bargaining tool mate.

has anyone got a decent deal for 50mb broadband xxl package? I'm getting the 20mb xl package but paying £7 more than new subscribers for a lesser service - all I care about is getting better deal for broadband ideally want £50mb service at a knocked down rate - I have BB, Phone & TV with them but the TV is rubbish and don't use the landline much so better deals on broadband anyone?
  • Hey,

I just renegotiated my deal with virgin media

    Before I used to have:
    Line Rental - £11.99
    Phone XL - £7.95
    non-DD Fee- £5
    TV XL - £24.50
    BB M - £20.50
    Paper Bill Charge - £1.25
    Loyalty Discount - £22.50

Originally this should have been £40 when I made the deal due to sky channels etc. but came to £48.69 after price increases etc over the years

Just spoke to retentions the other day, and a woman said that not much could be done about the price, but said she would knock a further £3.50 off for the non-direct debit fee, I also got the Asian pack added in which was £10 (I thought a great price for all the channels given, a while ago they used to charge £10 for just the one channel!)

She also said she would chuck in a free router, and give a V+ HD box for £49, she was meant to ring back but didn’t, so I spoke to someone else and they gave the router and V+ HD box for free!

So overall I now pay £55.19 for all my services!

I was wondering what people thought of that deal?

    Thanks!

bit pricey imo - but if ur happy with it.
  • Mahesh - You should really be getting the XL broadband as well for that price on their triple Xl deal. Might be worth another call saying you are going to Sky. See my post on the previous page mate.
  • cheers for the feedback guys, I agreed with that deal, but i know to bargin a bit harder next time! :p

    Hi

I'm out of contract with Virgin and was wondering if I could improve on the deal below. I phoned retentions but they were very unhelpful. They said that my deal was better than they could offer new customers and didn't offer anything.

    Telephone Line Rental £11.99
    Talk Unlimited 11 £7.95
Phone, Broadband And TV Saving £-7.00
    TV Size: M £0.00
    Broadband Size: X L £37.00
    B B X L For Price Of B B L Bonus £-12.00
    E Bill Discount £-1.00

    Total £36.94

What can I do? Ideally I would like to save money, but I would also like an HD box if possible.

Thanks Gazza, I did try that and mentioned the SKY Matcher deal but they had nothing on record for that, I explained that I saw a few people with the deal you got and said Id take it if they could offer me the same. However after 3 calls to different staff I still couldnt get it. The offer I got was the best I could get, am reasonably happy with it although Ill miss Sky Sports when the footy season starts. :O
