Tired to get an offer, called cancellation and tried to get a decent offer on a bundle.
Threatened to cancel, and they've given me a disconnection date. Will they ring me back within the month has anyone experienced?
Also does anyone know anything about a 3-month wait on disconnection? Is that until I can rejoin virgin if i want to again?0 -
My mum phoned to get broadband added to her contract and was told it would be connected 30/3 when the engineer came he did not bring the n router that was included in the 10mb deal it now will be sent by post and this is after about 8 phone calls regarding the deal they have still not returned a call which was meant to happen with 2 hours on tues from a manager. Still not heard any word can anyone help on what is the best way to complain and get a response for virgin. Their customer service is a lot to be desired especially when it is a pensioner who is the customer and all you get put on to is indian call centres with people who cant understand you. Any help would be grateful. Thanks0

My experience: I had landline phone (basic deal), tv basic package and broadband (10mb) for £25.50 per month (I had negotiated this down due to mistakes Virgin had made in the past).
Anyway, as I use voipstunt for all my phone calls, the TV has freeview in built and I can connect it to the PC to watch the iplayer, I just wanted broadband.
I called up on Sunday and spoke to an Indian call centre lady who said there was nothing they could offer me.
So I signed up to Plusnet for £17.49 per month (and £28 cashback via Quidco) for 6mb broadband.
Today I called Virgin to cancel and spoke to someone in England. I was told they would offer me £20.50 for the broadband. I said I still wanted to cancel.
Then they offered me £17.49 for the broadband. And I accepted and canceled with Plusnet.
So I've saved £8 a month, and the only thing I've lost for it is a tv package that I've got anyway
That's not a great deal or anything for just BB. Like you figured it's possible to have BB+telephone for less than the price you are paying for BB alone. Really you should have pushed them for around £10 or thereabouts.0 -
Just cancelled with VM
Had the M TV M phone and L BB for 27 per month. Got the deal 14 months ago. Never use the TV so wanted a cheaper deal.
They were unwilling to budge below £21.74 for the phone and BB, which seemed a little steap.
The chap said the highest speed i could get with 02 would be 5mbit, i told him the exchange is llu and that i have friends who get 14-15 who live in the same street.
After this he didnt make another offer and said the cancellation paperwork would be in the post and that I'd return my box etc with them.
Seems they will try to claim their speeds are always faster than their rivals, even if this means trying it on in order to keep the customer.0 -
I currently have the following services from Virgin Media
Telephone Line Rental - £11.99
Phone, TV & BB Bundle Saving - £-9.50
Talk Weekends - £0.00
Free Voicemail - £0.00
TV Size: L - £12.50
Broadband Size: M - £20.50
all this comes to a total of £35.49
From what I understand Broadband M doesn't exist anymore. I would prefer to have a wireless router, but not sure how to ask VM for this as they would probably like to charge me for increasing broadband.. I'm happy with the broadband speed.
I could cope with less on the TV, as I don't watch a lot of the channels.
If others have the same bundle - how much should I be paying for this? I've been with Virgin Media just over 2 years, so would this help to get a reduction?

Got the following deal after cancelling:
Phone: XL (free calls 24/7)
TV: XL + additional channel pack (£10p/m) (also remember they don't charge for HD channels)
BB: L
Free V+ HD box, 2nd set top box (keep current box but relocate), free set-up and installation and free Dlink N router.
£53p/m including line rental.
One thing I will say is have your facts ready when trying to get a deal! Make sure that after you cancel they can get hold of you anytime!!! I got the 1st phone call on a Saturday arvo 1pm which I missed, 2nd call the following Saturday 6pm which I missed and so I ended up chasing them as my cut off date was too close for comfort and I could not afford to lose my number! Also make sure of what you want, i.e TV: L or XL... if it weren't for that additional tv pack it would have been £43 and that's a good deal to be honest..0 -
Been on the following deal for about 18 months now, use to be £26 but has now gone up to £28.48
Line Rental £11.99
Talk International 1.50
Talk Mobile £1.50
Talk Unlimited £7.95
TV Size M £0.00
Broadband Size L £25.00
Loyalty Pack £-18.46
Total £29.48
After £1.00 e.bill discount £28.48
Do you think I could do better than this or just stick with what I have?
I wouldn't mind losing the talk int' & talk mob' but I had to take this initially as part of the deal.0 -
Been a customer for a year, and currently pay £30.44 a month....
Telephone Line Rental
£11.99 Talk Evenings & Weekends
£3.45 Phone, Bband L & TV M Saving
£-10.00 Broadband Size: L
£25.00 T V Size: M
£0.00
Just phoned up trying to get an upgrade to the above but with TV Size: XL, Broadband: XL, and got quoted £58.44 month + one off fee of £49 for V+ HD Box.
An extra £28.44 a month to upgrade the broadband and tv with a further £49 for a box seems like a rip off to me :mad:0 -

Evening all!
We've been with Virgin for around 7 years now - 4.5 years at this address, when we had to take a new 12 month contract.
Anyway, we've always had the same package. Costs are:
Line rental £11.99
Talk Eve & Weekends £3.45
Starter TV package (M) £5.50 (all our tvs have built infreeview, but I *do* like Sky1 on the main tv)
Broadband L (not sure we actually get that speed here, though) £25
Paper bill £1.25
So £51.14 inc VAT
Seems I should be able to get this lower? Where do I start? Haven't a clue how to go about this. Looked at SKY as a comparison, but came out about the same.
Grateful for any help!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200
