  • phoned virgin media...

    did have phone (11.50) and b/b 10mb for £35

they added tv (L) for £1 so £46... (people told me this wasnt a good deal) so

then i read this page and decided to phone again (retentions), i quoted the Sky deal and the guy i spoke to said to try a website called http://www.samknows.com/broadband/ and that showed i could only get 2mb through a BT line anyways so i thought he wasnt gonna shift on that but..

then he looked into my TV package (not installed til next week) put me on hold again saying he would look for the best deal he could do for me and offered:

    10mb B/b, Phone M, and TV L for £42.50
    or 4mb b/b for £32.50

so ive taken the £42.50 deal so i'm £4 better off each month with the TV (L) package thrown in too...(I tried to get sports or V+ but he wasnt having it)

    Hi
We have been with Telewest for years our package was
    TV XL - £20.50
    4MB BB - £25
    Phone - £11
    Total £56

Rang to ask about cancellation stating it was purely down to cost etc. Was offered the same package but with better phone package for £41.99. Gave my husband the details (as the account is in his name) - he quoted the sky package & was offered our existing package for £35. We enqired about faster BB (I work from home quite a bit so the extra speed is really good). He upgraded our package to include 10mb BB for £42 - so we are really pleased with that.:j :T

PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT
  • Hi,

I have been with NTL (cable wireless) etc for over 10 years now and think they have had enough money out of me so I am hoping to negotiate a better price but I have been trying to call all afternoon and they are constantly engaged. I pay:

    TV XL 20.50
    sports and movies 23.50
    tel line rental 11.00
    extra box 15.00
    1 mb broadband 17.99
with phone calls I dont get much change from £100

Do you think I stand a chance?
If I can ever get through: confused:

You need to ring & select option:
"If you are thinking of leaving" & you should get through to Retentions.

Have you looked at deals people are getting in this thread ??
Have you looked at Bundled packages & Special Offers on NTL/Viirgin website ??

Find Bundled/Special Offer package that is closest to yours.
Aim to get that deal with a discount, or that deal with your add-ons for same price.

Say you have been with them for xx years, you are thinking of leaving, Sky are doing special deals

I think you should get a lot off.
Think you should get 1Mb Broadband (£8) + Talk Unlimited/Evenings with Line (£12-£15), Extra box (£8)

TV XL + Sports Movies, not sure, aim for 1/3 -1/2 discount.

I think you should get your package down to £50-£60 /month.

Ps: look at Special Offers/Bundles on NTL/Virgin website as your starting point.

just wondering ... can the free tv go with the 2for 20 (phone + bb) bundle?
  • Managed to get through at last, the operator said there had been a fault on the line. She has given me 2mb broadband £14.99, reduced the XL Tv pack to £10.25 for 6 months (she told me to ring back when this period has finished), and reduced the extra box to £9.50 a toatal saving of £18.75. She also gave me a number 0800 0529403 and told me to ring and ask them to look at my package price as the computer was unable to give anymore discounts. I will do this tomorrow.

So fairly pleased with this, hope I can get it down further tomorrow,

    Pebbles1961 you should get 2mb for £9-99 at least.i'm getting 4mb at £12-50
  • Hi everybody,

After reading through this thread I decided to give Virgin Media a call to see if I could improve my package too, and i'd like to share my results:

Currently i've got just the 4mb Broadband @ £24.99 per month. I have been with NTL / Virgin for nearly 2 years.

I was looking to incorporate more services (TV, phone) but none of the preset packages on Virgin's web site really stood up to the sky offer (3 for £26 + line rental).

So basically I gave the Customer Relations number a call (listed on various pages in this thread), used option 3 (thinking of leaving?) and spoke to a guy called Brett who was very helpful.

After some discussion he offered me a few packages, and the one I chose is as follows:

    4mb Broadband (L)
Phone with Evenings and Weekends calls included (L)
TV - All channels bar the premium ones (XL)

All for £35.00 a month. He stressed that this offer was for life, and there was no minimum contract. Also there were no additional installation fees or anything.

I'm really pleased with this - for an extra tenner a month i've secured a phone with free evening and weekend calls and loads of TV channels.

I'd definitely advise anybody reading to give them a call, they may be able to give you a better deal than you are currently on.

    Cheers
