Hi, this is my first post and I am interested to bargain with Virgin Media after reading your successful stories.
My questionis would I phone 150 or go straight to 01256752000. Just want to find out if how much I can get for a 4mb or 10mb, I am on a 2mb at the moment paying £9.99. Thanks.0 -

Why pay to call? Try retentions on 0800 0529403
Typical prices:
2MB £9.99
4MB £12.50
10MB £17.50

Gave Virgin a call, was originally on:
Line rental £11
Broadband £18.00
TV £11.50
Total £40.50
Am now on the same package but for £24 plus I am getting another box for my bedroom which will cost another fiver per month. So I am pleased with what I have now!
Cheers for inspiring me to give them a call
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -

I have been with NTL (cable wireless) etc for over 10 years now and think they have had enough money out of me so I am hoping to negotiate a better price but I have been trying to call all afternoon and they are constantly engaged. I pay:
TV XL 20.50
sports and movies 23.50
tel line rental 11.00
extra box 15.00
1 mb broadband 17.99
with phone calls I dont get much change from £100
Do you think I stand a chance?
If I can ever get through: confused:
Was back on phone to virgin today, they have now offered me the same packages as above (broadband should say 2MB not 1) but with talk unlimited (should save me £8 - £10 in calls) all for £65.
I am pleased with this but do you think this is ok, should I have squeezed a bit more. I am not very good at this haggling malarkey but learning fast with the help of you nice people.0 -
Hi All
I just took the above advice phoned 0800 0529403, then option 3.
I said I wanted to leave to change to Sky unless they could offer a better deal.
I was on:
Telephone Line Rental £11.00
Itemised billing £1
TV size L £11.50
Broadband size L £25.00
Total £48.50 + call charges of about £20.
I now have:
Telephone line rental including all UK landline calls day or night!!
Itemised billing.
TV size M (I said we did not want all the TV channels)
Broadband size L
Total £30.50! no time limit, lifetime offer.
It is well worth making the call! :j Thanks for the advice.0 -
Virgin do seem to be keen to deal and make customers happy.
I have today received two separate bills for TV and Internet (10MB) + Phone. As these were on separate account numbers (a hang over from NTL's previous decision to split them), I realised I wasn't benefitting from the 3 product bundle. After a quick phone call - accounts merged, £10 saving on the bundle, plus £11 per month "compensation" for 12 months.
Now I won't need to haggle over the few additional channels in the XL package that I might watch very rarely and probably could do without.

I'm and ex ntl customer and I have gone for the 2 for £20 Virgin deal on TV and BB for existing customers. At present I use 1899 for my daytime calls and have free weekend and evening calls with Primus 2. I'll wait until my TV and BB are up and running then I'll phone the retentions dept to see what they can offer me on their phone deals.0

Dont know how I get to this bargain with NTL before. I tried to ask for another box to use for our tv upstairs and they are charging me another £15. Dont know if I should go for it. And one thing, i dont know how to tell them to have a lifetime offer like the others..I normally phone them every now and then to update my discounts.0 -
Mrs Budget
when I rang them the lady I spoke to told me Virgin had brought the price of an extra box down from £15 to £9.50. She also said Virgins offers are all lifetime offers now, no need to ring back in 3, 6 months0 -
