OK I got sorted.
Waited almost 25 mins on hold.
the guy who'd cut me off had sorted out a deal but needed confirmation so the lady I spoke to third time sorted it out.
Moved from
XL tv/4mb BB/Basic Phone at £56.50
to
XL tv/4mb BB/Talk unlimited phone/extra set top box no install charge at £51.45
Also she took down a complaint about the unhelpful 1st lady I spoke to and was generally very helpful.
So thanks for advising me to call again:: No Unauthorised Links in Signatures please - FM ::0 -
Just wanted to say thank you to all on this thread. I have just rang Virgin and got extra TV channels added to our package at no extra cost
We are on the 3 for £30 package and according to Virgin website if you take this package out now you get more TV channels. I spoke to very nice lady on customer service who after me pointing this out said we'll add the channels right now if you like. 20 minutes later we're watching one. Very impressed0 -
has anyone managed to get a deal when they mention skys offer of £26 for the tv, phone and BB, what did you say to get a reductionNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

With Virgin taking them over they are cutting the cost for new subscribers, but are not telling existing customers.Phone them up and hassle them for a better deal. Most people that call get at least £10 a month knocked off. I know folk that have had their bill reduced by over £30 a month depending on which package you have. Get on the phone. NOW!0

When I rang to ask why they had charged me full price on the family pack and the broadband, they said its 1 offer per account and as I've now been put onto 1 bill for all I can't have the family pack and broadband at half price aswell as talk 24 for 3 months
I only kept the tv rather than go on the free tv as they said I could have half price so I may aswell go on the free tv
What should I be expecting now its changed to media for
2mb broadband(charged full price but should be half)
family pack tv(should be half price but they are charging full at mo)
telephone
talk 24 (free 3 months)Thanx

Hi guys i am on basic tv , line rental and sports1. I pay £35/month do you think that they might throw in a broadband service for free. I am currently on Dial up0
-
Hi
We have the telephone line rental @ £11.00pm
Talk International (slimshady is Canadian) @ £3.00pm
Essential TV package £11.50pm
Blueyonder Broadband Complete (website says 4Mb but hubby is convinced we had some literature through saying it was upgraded for free to 8Mb) @ £25.00pm
I looked at the sky £26 package plus £11 BT line rental giving £37.00 plus we could have paid an extra £5 for free international call for up to 10 destinations making it £42 but not too fussed about that.
Virgin/NTL/Telewest or whoever they are now could not match that one but they came up with £38.50pm plus free evening and weekend calls for 12 months.
The salesman tried really hard to put me off of Sky/BT before offering me any kind of package so I had either a tough nut or they are trying to crack down on people phoning trying it on with no intention of switching.
I'm going to stick with them as I'm actually pleased with their customer service so far (we put sky sports on and off like a yo yo as oh loves tennis) and to save £1.50 a month doesn't seem worth the hassle of switching at the moment. I intend to review in a years time but keep an eye on these boards anyway in the meantime.
So at least £120 saved in one year.
Thanks all for your help.
Sou
