Phone ntl on their retentions number: 0800 0529403 and select option 3(?) to cancel.
When you get through tell them you're after the best deal you can get at the moment from them and mention their 2 for £20 offer.
I currently have :
unlimited 2mb Broad band for 9.99 (prob £10 now)
should be £18 but get a retention offer of £8 off
Family pack tv £13.75
should be £30.50 (ie 19.50 tv and £11 line rental)
the discount i get is £11 (2 for £20 offer) and £5.75 (half price base pack)
I also have talk unlimited phone with an £8.50 discount (TW 2mb Fam tv saving??)
Hope the above info helps and gives you some stuff to quote, although to be honest i've always found them really obliging on this number
you have Family pack(including line rental) @ £13.75
2mb BB @ £9.99
talk unlimited phone @£8.50
so in total you are paying £32.24.
have i got this correct?0 -

Aaaaaaaaaargh! I have been trying to get through on Option 3 for the past 3 hours! It keeps saying they are busy 'helping people'. More like they know why you are ringing and don't want to talk to you! I got through on the other 2 options but they wouldn't transfer me. One girl did and it then went dead.

My parents are with NTL/Telewest and saw info today on an NTL £9.99 Broadband deal. They currently pay £17.99, so called NTL on 150 and asked for the £9.99 deal. The person who spoke to them said for them to leave it with him, and he would get back to them in 2 hours. He duly did, to let them know that they could have their Broadband for £9.99 - result! My husband just called NTL on 150 and explained that his MIL has asked for the £9.99 deal and got it without any fuss, and therefore requested the same... The bored woman on the end of the phone said he would have to dial the 0800 Customer Services number, but that there was currently a 45 minute waiting time for a call to be answered! Do they charge these calls from the point of answering, or from the point where you actually get to speak to a real person?! I completely see that it's a worthwhile call to make because of the potential savings to be made, but it nevertheless sounds like a very expensive call...0

This is what I am worrying about. I still can't get through! How much per minute does it cost??A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -

0800 number is free as is the 150 number if dialled from a NTL line"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

paragp wrote:hi peskie pixie, i am a bit confused regarding what you are paying for your package.

have i got this correct?
Sorry:
I pay
phone £5.50 (14 -8.50)
tv family+line rental £13.75 (30.50-11-5.75)
bb £9.99 (17.99-8.00)
Total £29.24
However...... I rang the 0800 number at lunch time (option3) today got through straight away and renegotiated my mum and dad's package (which is same as mine) to:
phone (talk unlimited 24) £1.25 for 3 months (ring again in couple of months cos more deals coming on cos of rebranding with virgin!)
tv fam pack+ line rental £9.75 (half price and free line!)
bb £9.99 (17.99-8)
Hope this is a bit clearer
Don't go through 150 this goes to customer SERVICES (very unhelpful?!!)
0800 052 9403 is free and goes through to customer RELATIONS (got through y'day morning first time and today lunchtime 1st time)
EDIT : no it's not a typo that really is £1.25 for the phone!! Don't ask me how.
Am phoning again tomorrow to change mine!"A bargain is something you can't use at a price you can't resist." Franklin Jones0 -
I phoned telewest today to see if i could get a better deal having seen the sky offer of 3 for £26. I have been with telewest for the last 7 years getting all three services. No luck regarding a deal, gave them my 30 days notice to leave and he was fine, didn't seem bothered that they would be losing a good customer as i have never had any complaints regarding them before, but it's their loss my gain.Titch0
