Hi guys, Im currently with Telewest and would like to stay with them. Currently per month i pay £44.99
Line rental is £11.00, 2MB Broadband costs £17.99(had it for £9.99 but this ran out on last bill) Talk Unlimited which is £14.50 and Call Bar for £1.50.

I checked out NTL and im sure they and Telewest joined or something. Anyways i cant get NTL in my area but they will do 2 MB net for £9.99 (a year i think).

Any other ways to reduce the cost? Obviously i dont wanna lower my packages. Id rather threaten to go to another company which offers blah in the hope they price match.

Any good offers i can test against??

PS We have SKY TV in the house. Searched on the SKY site and found the following offfer :Max, up to 16MB for £10 a month...

Update *Called SKY, can get Unlimited Broadband with a speed up to 16 mb for £10, plus Sky Talk Unlimited for £5 per month. We need to have SKY TV tho, which we have, so yay!*
  • Just thought I'd give ntl another ring to see if they could cut my bill to £10 for 2mb broadband, and it worked!!! After 4 attempts they finally agreed to give me 6 months 2mb broadband for £10.

If they refuse you the first time wait a few days and give it another go

I just waited on the phone for 20 minutes and got my broadband down to £9.99. Didnt actually say much just 'what can you do for me' and mentioned their package offer and said I couldnt take advantage of that so what can they do for me. Best 20 minutes I have spent in a while :)

    Hi All,

Just got of the phone to NTL/Telewest as I noticed I do not seem to have been paying for my Broadband since I moved to them 3 Months ago on the 4MB service for £12.49 for 3 months introductory offer.

After saying I had seen better deals inc there £10 offer and since my inititial 3 months is over and I was thinking of cancelling, they offered another 6 Months at 4MB for £12.50 a month

I also cheekily asked about my TV package what to be honest Im quite happy with. I was paying £11.50 PM for the Base package and after her tapping in her voucher codes and deals she has upgraded me to the Family pack that normally costs £19.50 for £9.75 6 Months!

Im more than happy with this deal as although I havent really saved a massive amount in one go I was paying £34.99 to Zen Internet for 2MB service before I moved to NTL and on the TV im paying £2 less PM for another 70 odd channels.

    Cheers

Do you have to be out of contract to haggle a deal? Because i have been with Telewest for about 6 Months on 2mb for £15 a month for the first year, but the deals on their website are a lot better now. Anyways anyone not out of the contract had any luck haggling?
  • Same here I joined them in May last year so still have a few months to go! I currently pay £35 ish for 4mb BB and Phoneline.
I have sky and could get a BT line and BB 16mb for free.

No you do not have to be out of contract when your asking for a better deal. Just call them on 150 free from a telewest line and ask for the customer relation deapartment.

I have been with Telwest for 4 mths in to a 12mth new contract as I moved house.

I get the follwoing after chatting with them

    10mb BB for £20.50
Evening and weekend call for £11.00
Family Tv and additional box £15.00
I also had a 3 non direct debit fees returned. This offer I am getting for 6mths at which point I will call them again. :T

  • I phone NTL this morning and got my bill cut in half for the next 6 months.

I have been with them a long tme and still had the analogue TV package (which I have never used and forgot about), that was costing £5.50 per month.

They also cut phone rental and my 10MB broadband to half price for six months, so I'm paying £23 per month now. Over the next 6 months that should be a £200 saving

Lot of people getting results here! Keep it up! NT hell know they are in a competitive market. I wonder how long it is before they have an 'official' price drop!
