arae24 wrote:I have just spoken to NTL and asked for a better deal on my broadband. I stated that I have been a customer for about 3 years and I'm out of contract. I'm currently on the 1mb package for £17.99. I asked if was possible to have the discount that new customers were getting offered on their website which is £9.99 for 1mb for 1 year. To my surprise they did it no questions asked!YOU LOOK ANNOYED....CLICK YOUR PEN

PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT0 -
Made my phone call to NTL today and am now getting the following
4mb broadband @ 12.49 (Been half price for ages)
Talk Weekend phone @ 11.00
Family pack TV at £11.00 (Half price as I have BB and phone)
and the icing on the cake is the new TVDrive HD PVR box at £10
A total of £44.49 per month.
They have basically increased my bill by £21 to include TVDrive and package so I now have the equivalent of Sky+ and HD included at the same price as my old Sky Family package on the slow old sky box.0 -
Your comment about ntl HD is very interesting. Is this now available on a nationwide basis?0

Unfortunately they did not budge...they seemed quite happy for me to leave them, and their advisor was quite rude!!!
I have an orange mobile phone and am now thinking of moving over to them. I'm an average user so do any of you guys think their 2gb cap will be sufficient for me?
Also any sugestions on which braodband I should go for would be much appreciated
Sorry to hear this, I went through the same experience. Probably they have enough customers who are happy to pay £25 for 4 Mb broadband.
I am trying to cancel but the waiting time is about 50 mins.0 -

It is certainly available in the Luton area. Give them a call. I was told they are releasing it one box per house and testing the system to see how well it copes. Boxes are limited though. Also not advertised yet as at the moment only BBC HD demo channel is available and no video on demand. Apparently a software update is due in feb which should sort things.0 -
A word of advice - double check the bills when they come through. I have spent 8 hours in the last week trying to get NTL to adhere to the deal I agreed on the 15th of December. Hopefully it's all sorted now, but prepared for another fight when the next bill arrives.
Anyhow, the deal I have got for the next 6 months:
4mb Broadband - £12.50
Family Pack - £9.75
TV Drive - £10.00
2nd Box - £5.00
Total £37.25
No telephone line rental to pay as I'm with BT (that was the hardest discount to get).0 -
i've still got bills from 3 yrs ago.a yr ago mind you i started writing down names of people i'd had to speak to in order to TRY and sort out the bills.i was on a deal then they decided it was too good an offer and bullshi**ed me telling me it wasnt poss to allow it anymore-this was retentions.went over their heads ( got HO number from saynoto) to complaints and the guy ( very nice he was) told me he had no authority to change things-only retentions could do that.to cut a long story short he said he didnt want to lose such a valued, long standing customer and that he'll sort it so i can stay on the deal.he did put a credit on my account to cover the last bill but i was still charged so another call it will be-and a complaint about my BB being down for 4 hrs last nite0

Just spoke to Telewest.
I'm now paying £17.50 for 10mb internet and £5.50 telephone line rental for the next 12 months! I'm well chuffed!0 -
Hi all
Can I have some advice here on this, I am with Telewest and I get - Starter TV, phone and 2mb broadband for 29 a month.
Looking on this I could go Sky for 15 a month, BT line for 11 a month and use my Orange contract to get up to 8mb broadband wireless for 5 a month.
Do you think they would do something on this and what should I aim for - I would be happy with them just matching the broadband but has anyone know or them doing something wireless - the onlty thing I saw on there site was an attempt to flog me a wireless modem for about 120 a month.
Thanks in advance
PS been with them for about 2 years0 -

Wireless is just down to having a wireless router, so to make telewest wireless you'll just need a wireless cable router.0
