NTL retentions dept 0800 052 9403 - option #3
Just phoned and got my deal repeated which is 2mb for 9.99 for 6mths
I originally had half price line rentall too at 5.50 ish, for 3 months, though I didn't think I'd get that again so I didn't mention it.
The nice ntl fellow saw the line rental offer (that I had previously) on his screen and asked if I wanted that repeated aswell! Oh yes please, says I.
I will now have to wait for the bills to arrive to see exactly what I have been given. I'm a bit concerned that I have left it too late for it to be included on this months bill which is due in a couple of days, so I may have to wait a month to see if they give the back-dated credit on next months bill. I did confirm the offer was effective from today. It's just it may not show on the bill. In any event I'll let you know when I know.
Cheers all.0 -

Hmmm,
Well to tell the truth I am considering cancelling the internet all together. I know I have to give ntl a months notice so I didn't want the month notice to be @ 17.99 So I renewed the 9.99 deal so that I give a months notice at 9.99.
If I do decide to cancel the internet, it will be interesting to see what deal they will come up with when I phone retentions and hand in my notice.
I did get the half price line rent though, that's unusual.0 -
Called up NTL over a month ago and they agreed that for £19 per month we would get:
Line Rental
Free Weekend/Evening Calls
4meg Broadband
TV Starter Package
So the first bill comes through okay, it actually came to about £10 for some reason.
Then this months bill just came through, they messed up completely and it came to about £60!
Anyway, called up again to ask what was going on...
They said we were back on our old deal which is £40 for the above!!!
Then she said the best offer she could do now is £23 for just 4meg BB and line rental!
And because we didnt take the extension number of the person who originally quoted us the £19 PM...she won't match it!
So going to call up again tonight and hopefully the person we get through to will be of more help.0 -
Hi
Thought I'd comment about my good fortune but see I'm not the first!
I've been with NTL for a year and during that time their service has been shoddy.
At first they didn't get my d/ds organised, so they kept assuming I wasn't paying and cutting me off. Then they had service problems. Then some more service problems.
Today I called up and said I was wanting to cancel TV and get Freeview and they said 'Ok then, we do Free TV too you know'. So I said I'd give them a month to see how they get on. They then said 'How about BB for £9.99 for six months...?'.
So my bill has halved! :TClaiming against Nationwide £2500Others to come!0 -
Just called them and they reduced my BB to 9.99 and line rental to £6 per month. :j0

All i said was the TalkTalk from the CPW are offering free BB and there line rental is cheap too. Now i know TT are having problems which their service but they dont need to know that. Just say that you are considering moving and is there anything they can do to keep you. When they suggest something try and push them more and see if you can get better. My advice is to look around and find out what others are offering and then used that to haggle you price down.
Let me know how u get on.
Cheers,

Well I have been with T West for 5 years & I was paying £ 54 pm for
4 mg BB
Phone Rental
Supreme TV
I called in August & got the cold shoulder.
A few weeks back got really !!!!ed about paying for BB when T/T do it for free. So I posted a message on another Message board and was told that Telewest do my package for £45 !!!!
Well I phoned up & ask the person at sales how long was this been available for & was told it had been going since June / July.
Now although im glad my bill has been cut I am !!!!ed that I was not told about the decrease or that my bill was not automaticlly reduced back in August when I enquired.
I emailed customer services & all they did was send me a email confirming that my bill was reduced.
I am still not happy I thought the least they could do if offer a credit or something !!!
I read somewhere that the head of NTL/Telewest is Steve Burch. I emailed him but am yet to get a response.
Any thoughts on my next move folks0
