Hi,
I have just moved to a new house and I'm looking for a good BB deal.
The new house has an inactive BT phone line so my idea was to go with NTL and only use our mobile phones for calls.
And my question is, could a new customer negotiate somehow a good deal.
Having read the 30 days moneyback guarantee:
30 day money back guaranteeWe're so confident that you'll be happy with your new ntl service(s), we're offering a money back guarantee. If you're in any way dissatisfied and wish to cancel, you can call customer services within 30 days of installation and request a refund. We'll then credit your account with your first month's rental charges and any installation fees. All we'll charge you for are any calls made, movies, music, any pay-per-view or On Demand events ordered or any service upgrades after installation. 30 day money back guarantee only available to new ntl customers. This does not affect your statutory rights.
I was thinking that joining and asking to cancell after one month could get you something. Has anyone tried this or know if this would be feasible?
Thanks to all.:rotfl:0 -

We signed up to 1meg at £17.99 they installed it on the 31st August 2006, the speed of it was pretty slow compared to our 1meg asdl we had previously. Within a week we were on 10meg at half price for 12 months at £17.50. Took a few phone calls with them to make sure all was in order, but was definately worth it. So let them install it first as then they have paid to instal you and are more likely to offer you something to stay with them.0 -

Hi littleange_com, thanks for your reply.
Could you tell me it was easy to negotiate? what arguments did you use to get this price? it looks to me like an impressive deal and 10mb is an amazing connection.

Called retentions and just said it seemed a lot slower than asdl and asked what they could do, they said we could have 4meg half price for 3 months and to call back if we still weren't happy and we could try 10meg, so we thought we'd try and as retentions was closed when we decided to call we just called customer services and said that retentions said we could have half price 10meg if we weren't happy, they upgraded us. I called back another time just to double check what my next payment would be and they said it had been applied for 12 months, just gotta keep an eye on how much money they take now.0

Just 'phoned Telewest hoping to get them to remove the TV package which would have saved £5 a month. I ended up getting the broadband reduced to £9.99 instead - a saving of £8 a month. They are also offering free TV now, same channels as Freeview.0

Just been looking at TW broadband Myself
Phoned a few times asked some questions etc.
Sale keep calling me back asking me when.
I only want the 2MB BB service, I told the (at last local sales guy) I said I was looking online today and I can get a £10 discount ! he said no problem I will match that for you sir.
So if you fancy ordering via a human and not the net try that, phone up with some basic questions then say oh well I might order online as I get a £10 discount, the sales guys will always match it.
Cheers

Here goes, sorry if its a bit long but need to get it off my chest:rolleyes: we were on the 4mb broadband and phone and the supreme tv package and sky sports bills came in around £80 a month so called via 150 to see what we could sort out with no threat to cancel and we agreed loose the sports, change the phone to talk 200 and cut the broadband down as 4mb isnt req, ok phone sorted chanels cut and broadband i was told would be £17.99 for 2mb but double speed for 12 months, but the bill came in and they never cut the sports and not 100% sure what they done with the broadband except i think i got 1/2 price 4mb for 1 month, so i called 10 days ago and queried the bill to be told the offer was 1/2 b.b for 3 months  then why did my statement indicate it was for 1 month only and was told i would get a call back in 3-5 days and when that didnt happen i called them:mad: only to be told that i had been missinformed and that there was no way i could have been offered 1/2 for the year:mad: (yes i really am peed off with them) but have no bt line it was cut away so kinda tied and also during that call they seem to have cut the authority to talk to me as the bills are in hubbys name
and now want reauthorisation. Can anyone quote a similar full package tv needs to have disney, nickelodean and discovery h&l and the usuall freeview channels,bb and telephone package or is there someone else i should be calling or emailing regarding this? As hubby wont move unless a saving is to be made as we would need to pay bt to install phone line.
Thanks in advance;)The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0
